Is there a possibility for a coin flip for Luck?

Only if two teams played identical SOS. If not, the team that played the weakest schedule would get the first pick. Odds are that'll be St. Louis, since they get to play the other two worst teams in the NFC twice each.

That would be really close with the Colts. The rest of the AFC South has actually been slightly worse than the rest of the NFC West so far. They play the same AFC division so that cancels out. St. Louis plays the NFC East, which has been slightly easier than the Colts playing the NFC South so far. As far as the 2 other games, St. Louis has the harder road. They have GB and NO, while the Colts have NE and KC. I think the Colts having KC in that spot might end up giving them the easier schedule at the end of the year.

I don't expect any of the 3 teams to go 0-16, although after seeing Miami's remaining schedule I'm really disappointed they blew that lead yesterday.

After the Falcons handed the Lions their second loss of the season, a few players told Jeff Schultz of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Suh and defensive lineman Cliff Avril were taunting Ryan while he was in pain.

"I had respect for Suh before the game. But when Matt was on the ground, the things he was saying and the trash he was talking was definitely uncalled for," Falcons center Todd McClure said. "There are certain things you don't do. He said, 'Get the cart' and several other things that I can't repeat"

Star receiver Roddy White chimed in as well.

"I lost a whole lot of respect for 90 [suh] today, and also 92 [Cliff Avril]," White said. "It was just inappropriate behavior. I mean, 'Get the cart'? Are you serious? Come on. When you compete, you never want to see a guy get hurt."

Avril responded on Twitter, saying "Come on I'm not in the business of hurting not one guy on the field... I would never taunt anyone on an injury..."

According to Dave Birkett, Ryan said after the game that he didn't hear any taunting. What's more, taking a look at video of the play reveals that Avril and Suh were not near Ryan after he went down. It's obviously possible they could have been saying stuff to other Falcons players, but the allegation that Avril was kicking Ryan's feet seems false based on the video of the play.

loosing Stafford for any significant amount of time would be huge for Detroit. Despite how Linehan is perceptibly game planning, Detroit is a much different team when you take away the Megatron bomb. Taking out Stafford effectively does that.

Is it safe to say the Madden Curse is alive and well?

Peyton Hillis: 60 carries 211 yards, 3.5 YPC, 2 TD. Missed 2 games out of the first 6, including missing one due to strep throat.

Not only that, but it's taking out everything even remotely near it's path. Consider that Madden runner-up Michael Vick has already thrown 2 more INTs in 6 games than in 12 games last year. He's already broken his non throwing hand among other nagging injuries, and his team has started 2-4.

But the biggest shocker is that the Madden curse is even affecting people who share the same first name, considering the season that Peyton Manning has had.

If EA does the same contest next year, I think its time to consider gathering a large army of Bears fans to vote for Aaron Rodgers. It's not the same as rooting or hoping for injury because you have to consider the fact that someone is going to be on the Madden cover next year meaning that some NFL player will be subjected to injuries and poor play, so mineaswell be a Packer.

my point is we're also a different team if you have a QB accurate enough to consistently convert on 3rd downs, or if we have a QB with a quick release/play recognition to avoid the pass rush, which Hill gives us

i guess i'm a little down on Stafford compared to his inflated perception in the media right now, but he's still barely played a full season's worth of games for his career and just 23 so i'm not saying i've lost hope long-term, either

I get that, but right now its Randy Moss year 2000, just let the guy run deep and throw it high. Its nearly impossible to defend if you dont have the talent to defend it, where as a dink and dunk team can be over matched. Stafford is young, learning, all of that, but he still puts MUCH more talent on the field then Hill could.

I had the perception that Stafford was struggling a bit, but after looking at the numbers, if this is his lower end of play, he's really good.

Last 4 games:

83-151 (54.9%), 935 yards (233.8 ypg), 6.2 ypa, 7 TD, 2 INT, 83.6 QB rating

Obvious completion percentage is below average and ypa needs to go up, but still not horrible at all. Over a full season thats 3700 yards, 28 TD and 8 INT, not that those are the best numbers to judge a QB.

The Packers are going 19-0 you dumb tools.

I know you're being sarcastic, but I want to talk about it anyway.

The Packers will likely run the table against the AFC West with San Diego (away) being the most difficult matchup. Raiders (home) and Chiefs (away) look like push-overs.

The other 6 games are Minnesota (home), TB (home), Detroit (away), New York Giants (away), Chicago (home), Detroit (home).

Tampa Bay may or may not be a pushover. It depends on what team shows up. I think the Thanksgiving game will be a battle, but the Lions are definitely starting to look more vulnerable so I think GB wins. I really like that the Packers have four extra days to prepare for the Giants game (Giants are in NO on Monday night and Packers will be coming off the Thanksgiving game). I think the greatest chance to lose a regular season game will be either one of the last two games because if they are undefeated they will have already locked up homefield advantage and the games will probably be very important for both the Bears and Lions.

im not being sarcastic at all. i dont see how they could ever lose. i'm not being a woe-is-me bears fan either; they're just an incredible team.

there aren't many QBs with a friendlier supporting cast than Stafford's got, and that masks some of the problems he's had

no pressure: 106.5 QB rating

under pressure: 60.9 QB rating

(for comparison's sake, Cutler's split is 88.4/74.4)

given our breakdowns in pass protection of late, it's pretty clear why we're struggling on offense

I'm still of the perception that Stafford is a pretty average QB with a freak WR.

i think that's pretty fair to say right now, but i will defend him in that he doesn't have the benefit of play-action passing other QBs have; i'm pretty sure defenses just laugh when he fakes handoffs

If their defense rounds into shape it's all over.

Is Javad Best and whoever their backup is (i forget) part of the Lions friendly supporting cast? It's hard to be great when you are little threat to run. I havent seen their games except the Bears one, but I'd be willing to bet teams are dropping 6+ back more often than not.

for purposes of padding his passing numbers, yes; only Forte has more yards/game or YAC than Best amongst RB

Because this is oddly fascinating to me...

There is only one team that plays all 3 of the currently winless teams in the NFL, the Cleveland Browns (who will play nobody until week 12 and then get shellacked repeatedly until the end of the year).

There are three teams that play none of the terribad triumvirate: Detroit, Minnesota and Chicago (Green Bay played the Rams, the NFC East plays the Rams, and the NFC South plays the Colts)

Something that I saw on a Packers board. NFC North kickers against the Packers throughout their career:

Hanson: 62/68 = 91% (career 82%)

Longwell: 12/13 = 92% (career 84%)

Gould: 22/24 = 92% (career 86%)

Overall, they're 96 for 105.

Hanson was 2/3 in 2 combined games against in the playoffs.

Gould last year was 2/2 in the NFC title game.

That's pretty staggering. Hanson had a stretch where he missed only one FG in 14 years against us, which is unbelievable.

Hah, actually I just looked it up and for the Bears it's exactly the opposite:

Crosby 14-19 (74%), 7-9 from 30-39, 1-4 from 40-49

Hanson 44-58 (76%), 10-17 from 40-49, 2-6 from 50+

Longwell 48-59 (81%), 17-23 from 30-39
