What if Michy still wins Legends division and then beats Wisc in Champ game?

so 12-1 Wisc and Mich, 11-1 Illinois?

That'd suck. It'd be like MSU getting left out last year, and Wisconsin a few years back with Michigan and OSU.

As for the 3 team BCS, isn't the SEC petitioning that THEY can have 3 teams, but not other conferences?

I can't remember, they still have the 2 teams per conference rule for BCS right?

Barring a Michigan choke, it looks like the only way Illinois gets one is by winning the conference

I think Illinois would be in great shape for a BCS bid if they went 11-1 beating Michigan and losing to Wisconsin.

I'm sketchy on the BCS rules, because unfortunately it hasn't applied to my teams since the Illinois Rose Bowl:

Are there obligations to take the higher ranked team from a particular conference?

If not, I'd imagine a bowl would prefer an 11-2 Michigan team over an 11-1 Illinois team who beat them or an 11-1 Wisconsin team over a 12-1 or 11-2 Illinois team who beat them.

Of course we're going to lose @ Purdue, so none of this matters.

I was going to go with @Minnesota, but yeah.

I think the ultimate Zooker would be to somehow go into the Minnesota game at 11-0 and lose.

There was the Kansas State rule, but I'm unsure how high you have to be ranked in order for that to take effect (either top 4 or top 6).

Yes, but I believe Mike Slive has already started petitoning to change that rule.

It's likely to change after the current BCS deal is out post-2013 season, which is also when the Big East will be stripped of their auto-bid.

So the A&M vandalized A&M buses didn't exactly happen the way their AD claimed it to have happened.

It started when A&M athletic director Bill Byrne tweeted the following on the day the Aggies won at Tech on Saturday: "Someone vandalized our buses in Lubbock. Excrement inside and outside of buses plus spray painted vulgarities on outside. Classy."

Texas A&M assistant police chief Mike Ragan, who's in charge of security when the Aggies travel to away games, issued a statement saying that the buses were covered with Texas Tech logos in addition to profanities.

That precipitated the following statement from Tech on Monday:

"Many of you are aware of a tweet from a Texas A&M official that their team buses were spray painted and animal feces were spread inside of the buses early Saturday morning. The clear implication of the tweet was that this was the responsibility of Texas Tech fans or students. Texas Tech has conducted an investigation regarding this allegation, and has discovered the following:

"The buses were not spray painted. Instead, washable shoe polish was used on the windows of one of the buses.

"No feces were found either in or on the buses. Fish bait was dropped onto the floor of one of the buses.

"The alleged 'vandalism' was cleaned by the bus drivers and Holiday Inn staff before it was seen by the A&M official who tweeted the information.

"While incidents such as the ones alleged are inappropriate and strongly condemned by Texas Tech, it is no less wrong to condemn the entirety of our university, students and supporters by posting inaccurate information on the internet for the purpose of sensationalizing the actions of one or a very few. We are disturbed by the careless use of social media to share these inaccuracies."

Translation: C'mon, you Big 12-deserting pansies, can't you take a little shoe polish and fish bait sabotage without getting all whiny? It wasn't THAT bad!

A&M, don't expect bouquets on your farewell tour of the league. Tech, get over yourself with that ridiculous attempt at deflecting blame back at Byrne. Both sides: Grow up.

AU verdict reached by NCAA..

I'll wait for the Y! investigation.

I suppose Charles Robinson could still be 'investigating', but safe to say he's reviewed thoroughly already. I doubt he's going to write an article indicating he couldn't find anything either, but by all means, don't give up hope.

Might be their best work yet.

I still prefer this one, though the OJ one is damn good:

Boise State to the Big East? Whaaaaaaa?

http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7097384/report-big-east-boise-state-broncos-need-persuading

The Big East is considering adding Boise State football to help bolster the conference's chances of retaining its BCS automatic bid, though both sides still need to be persuaded that it's the right move.

A college football official, who spoke Thursday to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the Big East's plans, says some Big East presidents are resisting adding Boise State and the school itself has reservations about joining a conference in flux.

I've been all for BSU trying to get into a BCS conference, but that's pretty silly.

The official said Boise State has concerns about the commitment of the Big East's current members.

Ya think?

The grass isn't always greener on the other side. And in this case, it definitely isn't.

I would hope that Boise decides to stand pat for now and wait for a better offer than a conference that is crumbling at the seams.
