Good win even thought we should have won in regulation. This is the first time I've seen Minnesota this year and they look pretty decent. Horrible first for them but outplayed us for stretches of the next 2 periods. My guess is that they are legit.

Toews on pace for 45 goals and 42 assists for 87 points. I believe he still leads the NHL in faceoff percentage and is consistently called one of the best two way centers in hockey. I think he's going to be in the Hart discussion into the very end and has a legitimate chance at winning.

i think he's the best two-way forward in hockey.

Just saw the Kane goal and all I could do is laugh.

Yeah, it was ridiculous. I thought at one point he stopped, but then they showed the side angle on the replay and it was clear he didn't. So awesome and then the blatant celebration about 10 feet in front of the net. It was kind of a big EFF YOU to the Wild who think they're suddenly something special. That's why Kane is great and such an awesome compliment to Toews, who would never just throw it in their face like that. Hahaha, suck it, Wild.

They actually showed highlights of this on espn! Yes, that espn! Who told them that hockey had already started?

And they spent half the time talking about how hockey fans complain about a lack of coverage on ESPN. So meta.

Point taken. It's just a shame that they couldn't put hockey on at least one of their networks. Even the Ocho would be better than the sparse coverage on VS.

Disagree. NHL chose NBC/Versus precisely because being shown on ESPN 2 only is crap. NBC Sports is making a large investment in the future and NHL is along for the ride with only SNF as real competition.

I agree. NHL/Versus started slow but they have really done a great job with NHL that last couple of years. I am super glad that they kept broadcasting rights over ESPN. The next thing I wish they would start doing is have a double header night so they could show a west coast game at least once a week.

It's amazing, I've started to get that 'this is a bigger game than normal feeling' whenever the Hawks have a game on Versus. They've done a good job overall. I enjoy their studio show more than the NHL Networks (although theirs is not that bad). And I'm not sure how people in general feel about Emrick, but I enjoy games that he broadcasts. Part of it is nostalgia from 2010, but its also the overall excitement he brings to the broadcast.

I love doc emrick. He made Devils games enjoyable to watch. I think he's better than Foley (who I think lost a little bit off his fastball but is still quite good).
