I only watched the 2nd period so I may have missed something, but are the Hawks playing with just one PP unit? I seen them on the PP a couple of times and both times they kept Kieth, Sharp, Toews, Kane and Hossa on the ice the entire PP. Though they had plenty of offensive zone time they were not in the zone the entire time so a change was easily possible. Just wondering

Opening game was like last year's Hawks.

Last night was more like year-before-last Hawks.

Let's have more like last night.

Looking much better tonight.

And Scott still sucks.

Now that Carcillo is done being suspended, maybe they'll send Scott down.

I really wish Frolik had taken that empty net himself just to get that first goal under his belt.

You know, I was thinking the same thing about Frolik. But he'd have probably shot it wide, which would have messed up his head even more.

Scott was worthless, as usual. And I couldn't help but notice how winded Mayers was after that fight. He was really sucking wind -- just reminded me that he's old. O'Donnell looks slow too, but I like him and Montador as the last defensive pairing.

And I love watching Nick Leddy. Minnesota's GM has to feel like a real dope these days. That guy is really smooth and is developing one heck of a shot.

Four days until Buff and Ladd return to the UC. Looking forward to watching the Jets game tonight. Their fans deserve this.

One concern with Kane at center is it would open him up to more physical contact out there so having Carcillo around could be very helpful.

It's a terrible idea. If you don't want Kane more exposed to open ice hits, don't have him play center. The reason he is playing center is to get the puck on his stick more and let him be the best passer in the league he is and feed his wingers. Not passing to Daniel bleeping Carcillo. Hopefully this is just practice fun with 3 days before the next game. My biggest criticism of Q continues to be his roulette lines game.

I agree on the line shuffling -- it was pretty stupid that he was shuffling lines 10 minutes into the first game of the season.

Kane's actually been throwing a few checks, and not looking completely ridiculous doing it. I'll give Carcillo a chance, but it seems like he'll slow things down.

I don't really have a problem with the line shuffling. They've had a huge turnover in the roster in two years, and some of their key guys have missed lots of time to injury. It can be helpful to have everybody experience playing together at some time. Q has always shuffled the lines and it didn't exactly hurt them a couple years ago.

Of course the depth was a lot more interchangeable 2 years ago.

I wouldn't mind the line changes if he would give them more than a few shifts to figure things out. It would also help when they get Stalberg back so that they can add his name to the lineup generator instead of Scott.
