this defense is predicated on the pass rush. Okoye, Melton need to get at it again

I actually thought Melton was ok. To Raw's point, Israel, Adams and Tillman have been mostly invisible, except that Tillman's tackling sucked yesterday. Major Wright can't tackle either. Looks to me like he doesn't want to go one-on-one and stick his shoulder into a RB who gets to the second level. Not saying that is easy to do, but safeties in the Cover 2 have to do it some times, and I think it was Williams who he wiffed on during the 3rd Quarter.

And can we PLEASE stop all the 7 step drops? Can we adjust and go to 5? I mean, I know ideally this offense uses 7 steps, but our line isn't really built for that. At least let Jay take the easier 5 steps so he isn't on his backfoot when the defense reaches him.

Honestly, I don't see the NFC as that strong, and the Bears will have played arguably 3 of their toughest 4 games by next week.

It'll be difficult to see them better than GB/Det, NYG/Phil, TB/ATL/NO. 3 of those teams will win their divisions and 2 more for WC. They have to go 2 of 3 vs Det, TB, and Phil while beating Minn to have a shot at the WC. While its not a must win, they'd have to win the next month to be in the picture.

I don't think it's all that difficult to see them better than TB/ATL/NYG/Phil. None of those teams have played as tough a schedule as the Bears so far. I'm not saying the Bears are for sure better, but I don't think it's difficult to see.

It's not tough to see them as better than any one of that group, but they have to be better than all of them, plus have a better record because a loss this Monday would mean 3 NFC losses very early in the season.

What's amazing is that Cutler is following instructions and doing 7 step drops, yet the tackles are blocking as if they are protecting 3 step drops. They give up on the play once they think the DE is "out of the play", but instead they have a free shot at Cutler on seemingly every pass play.
