It's a blog, so take it for what it's worth. However, where there's smoke, there usually is fire.

" Tom Loxas of Cubs Insider was told by a source that Kenney will be out as team president upon the conclusion of the regular season. Loxas was the one reporting on Hendry firing months before it became official".

Setting aside the substance...

Why would you post a link to Blog B's recap of a rumor started by Blog A? Why wouldn't you just link to the, you know, actual rumor?

Equally for what it's worth, any number of the local guys have reported there's no truth to this today.

OK, well who knows.

I noted some of the radio hosts in Chicago were talking about it, but I've got too much work on my mind to really pay attention :)

I wonder how many bloggers and other journalist types "reported on" Hendry's firing months before it happened. Pretty crowded limb he was out on.

Really? I don't remember those

First Saddam, then Osama, now Crane. It will take the devil decades to recoup.

That's one of the Devil's big tricks. The first two are living comfortably on Mars or some other planet that's been secretly terraformed or on some remote location here on Earth. They're probably playing cards with Hitler as I type this.

I don't know, but it got HuffPo sold for $315 million

Wow, that makes all kinds of sense.

Wait, no; reverse that.

I can see why that would be recklessly assumptive, but am unclear on why that makes no sense.

If they wanted to keep him around to make progress and they've milked him for that progress, then dumping him now, before the thing is actually built would completely negate the progress made.

If you go to the actual post at Chicago Now Cubs Insider and not Cubbies Crib, you will see that there never was mention of Kenney being fired, just that he wouldn't remain Pres, well they brought in a new Pres, and gave Crane a BS co-presidency IMHO

and gave Crane a BS co-presidency IMHO

What is so BS about it? He ran the business before, and runs it now. If it was just BS they would just let him go.

Sure he runs the biz side, and I have no issue with that, but what I was trying to say I guess is Crane was THE Pres and now everyone knows Theo is. The fact Crane got to keep Pres on his biz card is all that it amounts to. I look at it as they moved him sideways to bring in a real Pres.

I read all about this in Mariotti's Trib article long before it hit Chicago Now
