If they wanted to do a local brew they couldn't go wrong with Goose Isand.

It wont be local anymore they were just bought out and are moving to NYC.

The thing with old style is that it has familiarity. My dad drank old style and those were the first ones I could sneak and for whatever reason its just the beer that I like. Particularly, in the tall boy six pack. I like good beers like 3 floyds and spatten but there is something about old style that always feels right.

I didn't know there were bums in Milwaukee.

There are a few, and every one of them drinks Steel Reserve.

When I used to live in Milwaukee, a bum offered me a tallboy of Steel Reserve in exchange for a plate of eggs.

They use that [expletive] as currency.

Ever hear of Steel Reserve? If not, you're better off.

oh Lord was that stuff ever bad. also horrendous: black label, koch's golden anniversary.

as a connoisseur of bad beers, i'm intrigued by the talk of big flats and would like to try it.

Depending on where you live, your local Walgreens is the place to go. It's Walgreens' private label beer. They recently introduced a light version. Here's what I'd compare them to:

Big Flats: Busch Heavy

Big Flats Light: High Life Light

Here's a word of advice: make sure they are ice cold. If they get even a bit warm, they get pretty bad pretty quick.

Wow, High Life Light is actually good news considering the price.

Now if you ever want to get real drunk for real cheap and you don't care what it tastes like or what you're putting in your body, Mad Dog 20/20s the way to go. Some people will call it a "chick drink" because of the color and flavors, but that stuff does not mess around. I remember that stuff from my college days.

Curse you. MD is the devil.

Any chicks drinking MD were about as slutty as they come.

So it *does* get the job done. Hmmm.

Pabst Brewing Co., makers of Old Style and Old Style Light, and the Chicago Cubs announced Wednesday the brew that has been available to fans since 1950 will be peddled at the North Side ball park through 2013.

Now we can move on.

This is good news. I don't get to Wrigley often, but the last time in 2008, the stale Old Style and lukewarm polish sausage were perfect.
