According to multiple sources, the team has had discussions about Aaron Maybin, who was waived by the Bills on Monday. All indications are the 11th pick of the 2009 draft wants to play for defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli.

Well we aren't exactly deep at LB. He'd basically be competeing against a couple UDFA. May the best man win?

Wait- Just realized they are talking about converting him to DE. What? He's like 230 pounds. If they are looking at DL I wonder if Woottons injury could be worse than initially thought.

Not much of a conversion. Looks like he mostly played DE in college. However, his size and the scouting report on him doesn't seem like a good fit on the line. In all reality, he converted to LB, and it doesn't appear as though it's worked out for him to this point.

apparently, size is an issue with Maybin

“I don’t know what scheme he fits at that size, unless you’re a strong safety or something," said Nix. "He says it’s his metabolism and maybe that’s what it is, but he couldn’t hold weight. He was 250 when we saw him at the combine and he was 228 this fall. Now he goes up and down some, but not very high.”

228 lbs is pretty damn small for a LB

We need some safety depth too! (although 48 looked good on Saturday)

Who was that? Mike Holmes?

I have no issue with them picking up young, former 1st rounders as long as they are thrown into the competition. I REALLY hope Okoye makes me forget how good Tommie Harris used to be.

That's Henry Melton

No idea I was watching from the 400 section. He was active though.

According to Google, 48 is Holmes.

Read an article the other day (I forget where) where the Bears really liked what Holmes was showing. Not sure if that will turn into a job for him.

I thought Holmes and Kris Adams looked pretty decent. Not sure if Adams can beat out Sanzenbacher for that 6th receiver gig, since it will probably come down to who can do a better job on special teams.

It's been a long time since Harris was good, that should help.

Unfortunately he's just talking up about the big step up off their asses they have to take after getting knocked down.

Maybe someone needs to add the yakety sax to the Bears OL "highlights".

Spencer at C and Garza at RG with the 1st team in practice today.

Inevitable, but still good to see.

Supposedly Louis isn't even on the practice field

No sign of Lance Louis on field for full team action today
