True. Im not going to lie though, Id rather the Cubs be really good and nobody caring than sucking and having the benefit of a large market, famous park, and plenty of folklore.

It's not like the Sox have been "really good", though. They've been above average. If they went on a Braves or Yankees type run of making the playoffs every year for a 5 year stretch, then they'd be a hell of a lot more popular.

Theyve been good enough that they could have dominated the NL Central throughout most of that era, aside from the 2004-2005 when the Cards were 100+ win teams.

As for whose the most popular show in town, all the Cubs really have to do is show signs of improvement and Wrigley Field will again look like it did when you had to go online the moment tickets went on sale to get them. The Sox, not so much.

OK, dominated is going a bit far, but they definitely would have hung in there pretty well.

What? No.

Finish by year:

1999: 6th

2000: 6th

2001: 3rd

2002: 5th

2003: 1st

2004: 3rd

2005: 4th

2006: 6th

2007: 1st

2008: 1st

2009: 2nd

2010: 5th

2011: 5th (currently)

Now that's a run of dominance. Finishing 1st or 2nd 4 times while finishing 5th or 6th 6 times.

He was talking about the White Sox.

Well I'm an idiot then.

The Sox indeed are the tallest midget. Their one World Series win in the last 90 years is so much better than the Cubs' zero. There is the irrefutable proof the Sox fan has always been looking for. Wear your crown with pride, Sox fan!

Was this drafted at White Sox Interactive?

Half of the posts on that website are about the Cubs! And their posters have the gall to suggest that it is Cubs fans who are obsessed about the White Sox? You barely ever see White Sox talk on this forum, or over on BleedCubbieBlue.com.

Their moderators had to make a sub-forum exclusively for Cubs talk (the WHATS THE SCORE? section)!
