I thought it was Questioning, but I think it has meant both at one time or another.

And how about Marla Hooch. What a hitter.

quote of the best post ever to deflect the post-bad gay joke awkwardness (edit: which was actually on the previous page and no longer relevant, but i am slow)

i don't really understand the Q at the end of LGBTQ... is it queer? i thought that was covered by the L and the G.

The latest version I've seen is LGBTQQI: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, and Intersex

Also, it's cool the Cubs did this.

Tim Hardaway does not approve.

Hardaway has done a lot to try and turn things around. How much of it is purely PR is unknown, but I know he's done something with the Trevor Project.

Hardaway wasn't exactly ambiguous:

“First of all I wouldn’t want him on my team,” said Hardaway. “Second of all, if he was on my team I would really distance myself from him because I don’t think that’s right and I don’t think he should be in the locker room when we’re in the locker room.”…..”Well, you know, I hate gay people,” Hardaway said in response to Le Batard. “I let it be known I don’t like gay people. I don’t like to be around gay people. I’m homophobic. It shouldn’t be in the world, in the United States, I don’t like it.”

Not a lot of wiggle room for semantics there.

I always understood Q as meaning questioning

I've seen LGBTQ and LGBTQQ. If it's only one, it'd typically be questioning.

However, queer is not necessarily synonymous with "gay and lesbian" and several different folks have adapted it as a term to mean... well, lots of different things.

Ricketts should've popped up at the end and said "Jim, you're OUT!"

I can't be alone in not getting this at all.

My only guess is that its an attempt at an poorly conceived gay joke.

I took it as a way that it gets better for Cubs fans... as in Ricketts is firing Hendry. I could be mistaken.

Did anyone else play the game "Smear The Queer" as a kid? I hadn't really heard that term in a while, so it reminded me of that. But I do agree that this was a cool move by the organization.

Not sure if this belongs in this post or deserves it's own (or has been talked about already).

Cubs owner [Joe Ricketts] accused of firing women for harassment complaints [at TD Ameritrade]

http://www.pantagraph.com/news/state-and-regional/illinois/article_31608978-9d97-11e0-b2a1-001cc4c002e0.html

The lawsuit alleges that the COO often discussed his own sex life and made inappropriate comments about women’s physical appearance. He often commented about Davis’ legs and cleavage, and once putted a golf ball into Duncan’s office and said “I’m trying to get into your hole,’’ according to the suit.

Seems important to note that it wasn't Ricketts who is accused of those things.

Tom's just the chairman of the Cubs. The family owns the team.

Of course.

Nobody in the Ricketts family is being accused of doing the stuff bolded in OldStyle's post, is what I was trying to say.
