The Indians Top 30 from 2003 has produced 185.6 bWAR.

For comparison, the Cubs 2003 Top 10(well regarded, with Choi, Pie, Sisco, Guzman, etc) has produced 0.4 bWAR. I can't find the remainder of the Top 30, but I can't imagine that number improves too much, never mind by 185 wins.

That list of Cubs goes back to guys acquired while Hendry ran the farm, right? When did it go from Hendry to Stockstill?

Stockstill's first draft was 2001. I can't seem to find the top 10 list that TT is pulling those names from, but of the ones mentioned Sisco was the only one drafted and that was in Stockstill's first draft.

Am I the only one who likes Profar more than Machado?

I saw Machado play a few times this year, and man, I think he's going to be something special. I think his glove is under-rated - hard for me to not see him as a good defensive player, perhaps plus, but not bad, as some suggested/thought.

It's a bit ridiculous to say this (acknowledging how stupid it sounds ahead of time), but boy, he really reminds me of a young Alex Rodriguez.

I've never seen either play other than tv, so I'm not saying I'm right. I just get a better feel from Profars stats up to this point.

we were talking about #1 overall picks recently, and the two who never made the majors (not including active players). i said that matt bush looked like a shoo-in for #3, but his chances looked quite a bit better with a promising K rate at AA. drunkenly running over an old man's head will probably put an end to his hopes.

Seattle's AA team will have Taijuan Walker, Danny Hultzen and James Paxton in the rotation. Arizona's AA squadron will have Trevor Bauer and Tyler Skaggs. Pittsburgh's high-A rotation will include Gerrit Cole and Jameson Tailon.

I am a little suprised that Bauer is starting at AA.

Matt Moore was nearly drafted by the Cubs:

During the draft, the Cubs inquired of Moore whether he'd be willing to sign in the eighth round. Because of the relationship Powell had built with the Moores, the family tipped him off and Tampa Bay grabbed Moore with the first choice that round, two picks ahead of Chicago. He signed for $115,000.

But on the bright side, our 8th round pick that year was Marquez Smith who had some respectable minor league seasons before being released earlier this month :( :( :(

trevor bauer's line from tonight: 5.2 ip, 2 h, 0 r, 4 bb, 11 k. for the year: 10.2 ip, 5 h, 0 r, 7 bb, 18 k. command needs some work, but he's going to be fun to watch.

This is sacrilege in the prospect world to say but I think Bauer is overrated. His command and control just aren't ace level. No denying the stuff is exceptional though.

OTOH love Skaggs and eventually Bradley...D'Backs should be well prepped for the day Upton leaves for ivy brick walls.

I can't wait for Bauer to get to the bigs.

Gerrit Cole was great in his pro debut yesterday (hitting 100 a few times).

dylan bundy's first start in low a: 9 batters faced, 9 batters retired, 6 strikeouts.

dylan bundy's second start in low a: 9 batters faced, 9 batters retired, 6 strikeouts.

season line: 6 ip, 0 h, 0 r, 0 bb, 12 k.

something tells me he's not long for the south atlantic league.

I still have no clue what they're doing with him. It's one thing to limit innings, but this seems really excessive.

he was scheduled to go six innings tonight, but they punished him for the walk by taking him out

Archie Bradley deserves to be mentioned in the same light as Gerrit Cole, Danny Hultzen, Trevor Bauer and Dylan Bundy. He's now at a 1.13 ERA with 22 Ks in 16 innings, with a .113 BAA and a 3.50 GO/AO.
