Unrelated to this game, but from the Red Sox broadcast tonight. Their nightly trivia question was the only MLB player with exactly 3,000 hits. Prompted the following exchange:

 

Analyst Jerry Remy: "Got to 3,000 and wrapped it up, huh?"

 

PBP man Don Orsillo: "Sort of."

Good things happen when Darwin Barney is in the game.

 

It's called clutch. That same ground ball with Ramirez up would have been a routine out, but the clutchness of Barney forced the error.

Ramirez wouldn't have been hustling. Hustling intimidates fielders, puts the pressure on them.
