How many times have the Cubs hit more than 1 home run in a single game this season?

9, and they're 8-1 in those games. You should take the time to read Fred's worthless stats; they're equal parts informative and depressing.

So they should win this game, huh?

That's just going to make Len and Bob, et al. keep up this stupid nonsense about even DOTC's goundouts being exciting plays.

I don't want to see anyone get hurt but I'd much rather see a minor leaguer up here than Dempster. Of course the Cubs will just slot Lopez in the rotation for him.

What the heck did this mean?

You wanted to go even deeper into the well for a starter to replace Dempster? They don't have any arms in the system to put in there.

People seem to be under the impression that we have solid prospects down there that are just waiting for a chance when in reality there is no one ready who is even remotely worthwhile.

Why the hell is Koy Hill starting AGAIN????????????????

Dammit Quade, that is frustrating. What the [expletive] is this team's fascination with him? HE'S BRUTAL!!

For some reason Dempster foster irrational dislike from some people. I have a close friend who is continually railing against Dempster all the time. I've seen a handful of people on this board who do the same. I mean, he's not the best option in the world, but it's not like he's received an absurd amount of money relative to how's he's performed over the last few years.

Day game after night game replacing a catcher who has sucked this year. What's the big deal?

I'd prefer it be Castillo, but it's not all that big a deal.

More often than not Ryan has been really good, certainly worth his salary. The hate for him, especially given all the more deserving targets, has been bizarre. Granted, it's only been from a couple of people.

Annoying sequence there. People may view it as failure to bring in a guy from third, I view it as failure of only trying to bring in a guy from third. Barney seemed to want to pop it up to the right side, and DeWitt was just trying to hit it on the ground to the right side. They both did what they were looking to do, but it still didn't count. I prefer guys just try and hit in that situation instead of limiting their preferable outcomes.

Castillo should be playing everyday.

It's got to be a carryover effect from his time as closer during the previous dark period of Hendry era. He kind of sucked in the bullpen and has been a solid starter (before this year).

It could be because he didn't do well like the entire team in that Dodgers series in 08

Soto has spent a lot of time on the bench or injured this year. He has struggled and he's not going to dig himself out of it sitting on the bench. He has been bad but nowhere near the level of bad that is Koy Hill.

I don't know if people are stupid enough to hate a guy for one game. Because that were be really moronic.

Soto has played in 38 of 60 games this year. He needs AB's to sort out his swing and contribute the offense.

There's like 70 OPS points seperating them, and it's a day game after a night game.

The only reason that there is "70" points separating them is that Soto is struggling at the plate. He needs AB's. The only real justification is the day/night games but he has missed a ton of playing time this year. He should be in there.

But it is a day game after a night game, and Geo has sucked. He's going to get plenty of playing time the rest of the way. But he will most likely sit all day games after a night game unless he's ridiculously hot and the team somehow gets back into it. That is not currently the case, so there is absolutely nothing wrong with sitting him on the day after a night game before a trip to Philadelphia when it is going to be about a billion degrees.
