At least he's pitching well in AAA. Gotta be an upgrade for the big league rotation over Coleman.

Apparently he was acquired for a minor leaguer who has not yet been identified and will be added to the Cubs' roster tomorrow.

I can't believe Lopez pitched a full season for the D-Backs last year. Last I knew he was with the Rockies, and that was 2007.

Berg pretty much guaranteed his immediate demotion with that 12 ball performance last night. Coleman will be gone as soon as Garza comes back.

 

They will have to take someone off the 40 man roster to clear a spot. It probably should be Berg as well.

Or they could move Cashner to the 60-day DL. With his setback he'll probably be out at least that long anyway.

Unnecessary, since they could have transferred Cashner to the 60-day DL, but I don't think it would be any great loss, either, if another team claimed him on waivers.

if I remember correctly, Hendry has had a thing for Lopez dating back to the Brian Roberts rumors of years past. Either way, he cant be much worse than casey coleman. Glad to see him sent down.

It was apparent early on that it was going to be a long day, just by looking at the big hacks the Astros were taking against him. They were teeing off right from the get-go. He wasn't intimidating them at all with either velocity or movement.
