Reed Johnson against LH starters in 2010:

.250 .289 .358 .647

Against LH starters so far this year:

.263 .333 .368 .702

He's useful against lefties coming off the bench, but doesn't really do much to justify automatically getting starts against them.

He didn't start yesterday against a lefty. I don't have a problem with starting Johnson, though I do wish we'd give Fukudome more of a chance against lefties here and there.

I'm talking about the general idea that he needs to be out there if they're facing a lefty. I was happy he wasn't out there yesterday, and really only hope he's out there due to the sample size of his matchups against Bumgarner.

And people SHOULD have a problem with starting Johnson. He sucks.

.249 .366 .345 .711 against LH starters.

Though he's only gotten 5 starts against LH pitchers between this season and last year's, and in 4 starts last year he put up this hilarious line:

.344 .447 .688 1.135 with 3 HR and a triple

1. Castro

2. Barney

3. Byrd

4. Baker

5. Sori

6. Johnson

7. Pena

8. Hill

9. Demp

Lets hope Baker and Reed can do some lefty bashing today.

Where the hell is Castillo?

In the dugout.

Hopefully he strangles Quade.

For all we know Dempster requested Hill instead of Castillo.

Dempster isn't the manager.

The Giants broadcast just said that the Giants became the first team in MLB history to sweep a homestand of six or more games without scoring more than four runs in a game.

No, but he is the starting pitcher today and outside of his last two starts he's been struggling. He might just feel he has a better rapport or whatever with Hill and asked for him to catch for him.

What an odd inning.

And Brenly's praise of the Giant's WS formula as being making up a team of "gamers and dirtbags" made me soooooo grateful he wasn't hired to manage the Cubs.

Have we won the opening game of a series yet? I think it'd be fun to at least dream of a potential sweep after the first game of a series.

Soto started both of those games, so I'm not sure why he would be so adamant about Koyie Hill playing.

CUBS are 4-8 in games that begin a series.

This lineup makes me happy Brett Jackson's injury is not serious.

Worst case scenario: Your 2012 starting 1B, James Loney!

Quick question. I will be at tomorrows game, we have bleacher seats and were planning on getting there a couple hours early to get good seats. Can we have a cooler of beer with us while we wait in line or is that not allowed in Chicago?

I just threw up a little.
