Valdez retires Votto on a flyout, just barely grazes Rolen's jersey, gets Bruce to fly out and retires pitcher Carlos Fisher on a pop out.

I am amused by this game! Bring me a goblet of your finest wine and a platter of your finest meats and cheeses!

And Valdez pitches a scoreless inning!

Phillies are definitely walking off here. The stadium is crazy.

Raul Ibanez with the game-winning sac fly and Wilson Valdez is your winning pitcher, 1-0 with a spotless ERA of 0.00.

I love this sport so much.

Agreed. This is why baseball is fantastic. In no other sport will you see this much variety, possibilities, or fun.

Nope. Football's the closest and even then, the most you'll see is an offensive skill player running the Wildcat, or someone checking in to catch a TD pass or a receiver playing DB against the deep threat. Not nearly as entertaining.

Not quite as gruesome as some of the snapped legs that have happened in soccer but that's a replay I don't want to see again.

This would be as good a place as any to mention that Corey Patterson single handedly terrorized the White Sox in their weekend series including a walk off bomb in the 14th Saturday and a 2 run shot yesterday. He raised his line to a healthy .287/.320/.450

Giants/Cardinals in St. Louis, bottom of the 11th, Giants up 7-5, 2 outs and a runner at first and Brian Wilson has a 2-1 count on the batter.

What happens? A bank of lights goes out and the game has to be delayed, where it still sits.

EDIT: 10 min later, the game resumes, next pitch is a groundout, game over. Take that, Cardinals.

Verlander has a no-hitter through six against Cleveland.

Going to the seventh now.

EDIT: Through seven. Only baserunners are a HBP in the first and a walk in the seventh.

He'll be joining the very exclusive "Two no-hitters in one season" club if he pulls it off. Only what, like 6 or 7 other guys?

Looks like five guys have thrown two in one season.

Also, only five guys in history have ever thrown three or more no-hitters in a career. Larry Corcoran was one, though he played in the 1800's. The other four? Ryan, Koufax, Feller and Young.

And as I'm typing this, Orlando Cabrera singles to center with one out in the eighth.

It's really gotta suck to have your no-hitter broken up by a no-hitter like Orlando Cabrera.

Cant be worse than having your perfect game broken up by some guy whose name I cant even think of and probably isnt even in the majors anymore and he should have been out and now your not even in the majors anymore.

Nationals just swept the Cards on a Danny Espinosa walkoff 3-run homer in the 10th.
