Haha, Oh poor Jeff Stevens

May as well have put Fred up there

 Careful !!!

If Coleman were pitching you wouldn't even have to swing!

This is the downside to Casey Coleman. When he doesn't have control of his pitches, he doesn't have the stuff to overcome that. Reminds me somewhat of Jason Marquis in that way actually. It's the reason that while he's an ok bet to be a 5th stater in the league he can never be more than that and he's better as a 6th/spot starter.

part of it is control and part of it is that he has fringy stuff and it's hard to feel confident in it, so he's going to nibble a lot. either way, he doesn't have much margin for error.

basically casey coleman's ceiling is jason marquis and his floor is the multitude of pitchers who can barely touch 90 mph and routinely get hammered in the major leagues.

So basically, once either Wells and Cashner are back, or Jackson or Davis come up, he'll be spending a a lot of time with my favorite prospects, JR Mathes and Austin B-D.

May as well just let Stevens go until his arm falls off at this point rather than waste the rest of the pen in case the Cubs decide to play baseball the next 2 days. Should have just left Coleman in for a few more innings.

Coleman nibbling on Billingsley - twice - while Billingsley did nothing but plug 3 fastballs at 65 percent effort past Jeff Stevens in his AB. That's my pick for "most annoying part of this game". I HATE when we waste pitches trying to nibble against the other pitcher.
