Quade switched out Ramirez and Soriano for Colvin and DeWitt.

Guess he threw in the towel after the sixth.

I'm with CCP. You can have Grabow, Samardzija, etc. mop up. This is highly dangerous to Stevens and it shouldn't matter that he has little value to the team. He shouldn't be risking severe injury just so you can save other pitchers. There's got to be other options besides burning Marmol/Wood/Marshall or having Stevens throw 89 pitches.

Uhhhhhhhhhh....

I mean I know it's 9-2 but did he seriously pull Aramis for Colvin with the bases loaded and 1 out?

He pulled Rammy after the sixth. Colvin for Rammy was a straight switch and then there was a double switch with Grabow going in for Soriano and DeWitt into the ninth spot.

Jay Jackson, your table is ready.

Assuming his velocity is back after last night's performance, I hope he gets the callup for Tuesday night. We need some serious help in the 4/5 spot right now and he may give us the best chance to bridge the gap until Wells/Cashner come back.

i don't. he still might be a pretty good prospect (was adequate last year at age 22 in a hitter's league) and is still overcoming a tired arm or something along those lines. you don't need him coming up with the risk of getting knocked around and losing confidence. just bite the bullet, start coleman and hope the other team hits the ball at our fielders.

This. Jay just got back to AAA. At the very least he needs a few more starts.

i suppose samardzija could have come in for the 6th and 7th then you just waste grabow in the 8th/9th, but then each of those guys is not available tomorrow. as it is they should send down stevens and call up someone else since stevens is done for a while. it would have been an easy transition from stevens to samardzija since neither one can throw strikes.
