NBA/Bulls with an announcement at 3:30 from the Berto Center....

Derrick Rose tests positive for PEDs.

Edit: just kidding, looks like Thibs won COY. Awesome.

Wouldn't an MVP announcement come during the semifinals? I don't want Rose's head getting all screwed up during the ECFs.

Per ESPN (via RealGM) the MVP will be announced on Tuesday which pretty much means either Rose or Kobe is winning it because they like to present it before a home game and the Bulls (and Lakers) are at home Wednesday.

I got free tickets to the game tonight. They're crappy seats, but it's a playoff game and they were free. So excited.

"They weren't even in gangs," Gibson said of childhood pals he called Cookiehead, Cakes and Johnny.

Sad that pro athletes need to clarify.

When you grow up in Brooklyn and 3 of your friends die, 2 of them from gunshots over a 3 month period, I think its reasonable to clarify that regardless of who you are.

I wish they wouldn't cheapen him like this.

I'm pretty sure using Corneilson the first night after the us KILLED OSAMA BIN LADEN isn't cheapening him.

Spoilsport.

...but yeah, that didn't click with me. Too bad it can't be a Hawks game, it would rival the all star game as far as noise.

Yeah...the Bulls crowd will barely even look up from their cell phones during the anthem. Not that its the Bulls tradition to cheer the anthem. It would be nice if they picked up the tradition for one night though.

LOL! Page one of the bulls/hawks predictions yielded this gem:

agree with your first sentence Soth, but the thing about Chicago is that they really aren't a good offensive team. It was a dangerous thing against Orlando because they have so many shooters and such a dominant presence in the middle. Chicago has Rose and that's about it. Boozer and Deng are ok, but if we can at least play solid D, we'll be able to grind out a victory. If we play smart on both ends, I really don't see much of a series.

IIRC, the Hawks are a team of quitters who as soon as the tough get going... they get going.

I'm not "voting my head" in this one because I genuinely have no clue.

The only "sample" we have are three games closely grouped together in March, a time when the Hawks were trying to work a new PG into the rotation. Plus, even by the Hawks' up-and-down standards, two of those games scream "OUTLIER!"

Gonna go with my homer heart on this one:

Hawks in 4 blowout wins.

lol...I'm not saying that you should only look at regular season records to determine how a series is going to go, but to make a statement like 'the Bulls aren't a very good offensive team" and "shut down Rose and they can't score" (which is basically what they are saying). You don't win 62 games with a "not very good" offensive team. And if it was as simple as "shutting down Rose" then someone would have done it already.

The comments are based in reality (i.e. the Bulls offense isn't top notch and the defense is clearly the dominant unit, the Bulls could really benefit from a consistent scorer to go along side Rose) but those comments really stretch it out.

To suggest that the Hawks will win this series going away is just completely homeristic.

That's unreal. Are you sure that site didn't say "Onion" somewhere in the header?

We're not a very good offensive team. Decent, above average, etc.

Sort of a no-brainer, but awesome that they are actually doing it. Now it's up to you, TNT.
