Armando Galarraga RHP

He'll get his first National League start after rallying to beat Aaron Heilman for the fifth starter's job. Galarraga gave up 21 homers last season, a pretty ugly total considering his modest 144.1 innings, so owners will be hoping the wind is blowing in at Wrigley come Wednesday.

 

Ryan Dempster

News: Dempster got hit around by the Pirates on Opening Day, allowing six runs (all earned) on six hits (two homers) and four walks. He did, however, strike out seven batters in 6.2 innings. (Fri Apr 1)

 

Spin: It's not like Dempster's stuff wasn't completely there, as the strikeouts indicate. Two pitches killed this outing, as he allowed a grand slam to Neil Walker and a two-run bomb to Andrew McCutchen. Not a good start to the season, but no cause for alarm either.
