Northwestern dropping to NIT range and Minnesota possibly remaining in NIT range takes two spots away though.

 

There's always the CBI.

 

Apparently there's some kind of issue between the CBI and Big Ten. A Big Ten team has never been there and now there's talk that Iowa won't accept the offer because of whatever that situation is. Fran had said previously they wouldn't turn down any postseason bid.

For a team that hasn't been in the postseason for 6 years and had 4 losing seasons in row prior to this year? Yes. Especially when all but 2 regulars in the rotation are freshmen or sophomores.

It sucks, but we've gone from embarrassing to decent in the past few seasons... takes time to become good when you're one of the worst programs in D-I. Have some nice players coming in next season and hopefully the facilities plan is released soon.

 

All that said, a potential NIT home game is a shitty consolation prize. Ugh.

I figured it was recruiting related, thanks. I have to question his smarts though if he didn't take Coach Cal up on that offer.

He graduated from here. We are his dream job.

 

I get that, and respect it. Good for him.

 

But there is no comparison out there to that offer, alma mater or not.
