One of the most underrated and brilliant coaching plays of the game: kicking off with 2:08 left, the Packers pseudo squib kick was a stroke of genius, further helped by the dumb penalty on Pittsburgh. The key was killing the two minute warning as the Steelers had been irresponsible with their timeouts and lost ANOTHER stoppage of the clock.

Just a great game by Aaron Rodgers. If there is any doubt about who the best QB is... dude completed 62% of passes for over 300 yards, 3 TD's, no picks while losing one of his top Wide Receivers and having five drops... This easily could have been a 350/4 performance.

The World Heavyweight Champion indeed.

the return couldn't have been any worse for the steelers. the guy ran backwards, gobbled up more time, and then the penalty.

I'm afraid they are going to be good for a while. To go from Farve to Rodgers is pretty damn frustrating.

This team might have dynasty potential. There's just way too much talent coming back from injury, Ryan Grant, Nick Barnett, Jermichael Finley all come to mind. It's going to be pretty disappointing if we do not achieve similar results next year. Of course what would be more disappointing is if this is the last football game we see for a while.

They could be really good for awhile, agreed.

It's pretty rare for a team to go from one star QB to another in succession. Frustrating for Bear fans to watch it happen to the hated Packers.

And Rodgers may turn out to be the better of the two.

Yep. They have tons of young talent and can draft. Thankfully the NFL can be so unpredictable and the parity makes it tough to maintain a dynasty.

My favorite Super Bowl hors d'ouevre is diced chicken, wrapped in thick cut bacon, and coated in a mixture of brown sugar and chili powder. Sweet, salty and hot. Totally making them again.

oh lord, hit me with some pictures or something, that sounds off the charts

Recipe later, once I find it.

UPDATE:

These were a huge hit and pretty much are the best things I've ever made.

UPDATE:

I ate too many of these/drank way too many cocktails and don't feel well at all.

Or maybe it's the game result. Combination of the three, maybe.

We made these and they were wonderful. Next time we are going to use some cayenne to give it a little more kick.

Didn't he blow the two minute warning too?

I'm not expecting them to pull of multiple SB wins, but they're definitely going to be the team to beat in the division for a good long while. Them winning last night was bad enough, but they did it with a very young and very talented team that wasn't even at full strength for most of the season.

In short...this is really going to [expletive] suck for a while for Bears fans.

1) Big Ben deserves some heat for his poor performance. the two picks were his fault, and he missed a host of pretty wide-open throws

I thought his performance was split between the first and second halves. First half, he was pretty terrible. Second half he was much better, but still off on a couple throws.

His halftime numbers actually looked a lot like his numbers in the first Super Bowl agains the Seahawks.

2) the Chrysler ad was the best commercial

Normally I want Super Bowl commercials to be funny, but that really was a good commercial. I was impressed.

The Packers may be entering a window where they are like the Patriots in the AFC, but I'm not counting on multiple championships. Belichick and Brady haven't won in six years. And no offense, Packer fans, but they are way ahead of McCarthy-Rodgers.

the bears in the 80's only went to won superbowl and were about as dominant a team as there could have been.

the packers played great in spurts in the postseason, but were by no means unbeatable. good, but incredibly lucky, as many super bowl teams are wont to do.

The biggest thing to me about the Packers this year is the way they were able to overcome injuries. Few teams make it an entire season without injuries, but the Packers got hit extra hard. If they can win the Super Bowl with Grant, Finley and both starting safeties out extended periods and Driver and Woodson out for much of the Super Bowl, what can they do mostly healthy?

For Bears fans it really doesn't matter if the Packers win any more (or go to any more) SB in the next 5-10 years. Even if they don't they're still likely to be the main reason the Bears don't have a shot at the SB or even the playoffs during that time. They don't have to be a SB dynasty to just absolutely dominate this division for the foreseeable future.

Well I think they actually went 15-1 this season, so probably 16-0.

oh my, what a clever lampooning of delusional Packers fans, you're really showing them!

That was SSR's line. Take it up with him.

Just because the Packers have a young core doesn't mean they are going to win multiple Superbowls. I'm sure they'll be good for a really long time (as all team with elite QB are), but the Pack are far from a given to win another title.

Brady has 3 rings, but NONE since 2004. And he was borderline elite when he won his 3 (definitely not elite when he won his 2nd). Peyton only has 1 ring. Brees 1. Then if you consider Rivers elite, he has 0 Superbowl appearances. Roethlisberger has 2 rings, but doesn't have elite stats outside of a sub .500 2009 season.

Yeah, Super Bowl wins are very hard to predict given the one-and-done nature of the playoffs. If they can stay together and healthy, though, I think they have the capability to win multiple titles.
