i was thinking about it and if we win on sunday it may be the most satisfying win i've gotten to enjoy in all of professional sports ever

i was a little too young and not super into basketball for the jordan years, except for the tail end of the second threepeat

the cubs go without saying

the 2006 nfc championship was pretty fulfilling, especially with this

HA! Eric Allen was terrible at picking games back then too!

the video posted was a video of two packer cheap shots from the 1980s and was prefaced with the phrase: "for the kids, who dont know why we hate the packers:" i don't think that two cheap shots are the reason that bears fans hate the packers. but technically you're right, if you weren't born in the chicago area and raised as a bears fan then you probably would not hate the packers. unless you were born in minnesota and raised as a vikings fan.

also, i never said anything about the packers being better more often, you apparently made that up from what i posted.

"technically"? do some [expletive] research before you decide to insert yourself in a decades-old rivalry and pretend to know what should constitute a rivalry and why anyone should care regardless of the fact you have zero investment.

who are the people that love pretending to be experts on your culture? oh yeah, white people.

I'm guessing the cheap shots that took place in those videos wouldn't have happen if it weren't Bear/Packers also. There was obviously hatred before those plays took place so I'm doubting it's the reason Bears fans hate the Packers. If it were the Cardinals or something no one would remember those plays I'm guessing but because it's the Packers people remember.

that's gutless packers football right there and it's only ever been that way. as for remembering cheap shots, i only really remember the packers engaging in that crap against the bears, never vice versa

there was the one hugh douglas hit in 01-02 playoffs, but nothing that compares with what the packers have done. they have historically been cowards and so have their fans.

Desmond Clark will be active on Sunday.

Clark tweeted on Friday:

“88 will be on the field Sunday,” Clark wrote, referring to his jersey number. “Here we go 88 fandom!!! Let’s get it on.”

Sean Jensen speculates that means Aromashadu will probably be inactive.

Hopefully if that happens again this time, they call the obvious holding call they missed

How about the one earlier when the punter saved the TD?

Doesn't Hester always get tackled by the punter? And I am not saying that trying to be a smart ass, I just remember when it happened the thread blowing up with "WHY THE PUNTER AGAIN!".

He had a streak there where the punter got him a few times in a row...that's all.

Hester was sitting on 13 return TDs for a long time, and he had about 5 times where all he had to do was beat the punter to get the TD and got tackled/forced out.

where was the holding? who was being held?

Pause it at 22 seconds. Derrick Martin is getting his jersey literally ripped off.

With that said it still counts. And Hester scares the crap out of me.

i don't see it, i see a guy who overpursued to his left getting pushed out of the play, but that's about it.

the hugh douglas body slam after the whistle was pretty cowardly, though, don't get me wrong.

If you watch a better feed of it, you can clearly see whoever is blocking Martin grab his jersey long enough to get him out of the play. That is why when he turns to Hester he stumbles because his jersey is getting yanked.

there have been 4-5 devin hester kick returns called back on phantom holding penalties, i'm fine with them letting a really minuscule one slide

So we are now arguing about a play from week 3 and complaining about some plays from 25 years ago? This game needs to start please.

Something I've been thinking about...will people really remember this game if the winner ends up losing the Super Bowl? I can't see this game going down as an historical landmark in the NFL unless the winner also wins it all in Dallas.

We all will. We'll have 2 weeks to bask in the awesomeness of beating our rival to get into the Super Bowl. That should be enough time to cement the legacy of the game before the Super Bowl. That said, there's no doubt that losing the Super Bowl will put a damper on this one.
