Something I've been thinking about...will people really remember this game if the winner ends up losing the Super Bowl? I can't see this game going down as an historical landmark in the NFL unless the winner also wins it all in Dallas.

We all will. We'll have 2 weeks to bask in the awesomeness of beating our rival to get into the Super Bowl. That should be enough time to cement the legacy of the game before the Super Bowl. That said, there's no doubt that losing the Super Bowl will put a damper on this one.

You sound pretty confident about tomorrow. I'm jealous.

I was speaking from a 'if we win' scenario. I feel good about the game but by no means am I confident of a win.

That might be the one thing you and I agree on. I think the Packers can and should win, but if they will is an entirely different matter.

I am nervous about the game, but I want a Bears win more than I've wanted a football win in a long, long time. I usually don't get nearly as worked up over the Bears as the Cubs, but a couple of nameless people in this thread have really got my motor running.

And Colin Cowherd, that smug [expletive].

When I leave for the game tomorrow, I am either never going to read this thread again, or I'm going to save it and read it whenever I feel down.

Our Papa

Who art a Bear

Halas be thy name

Thy championship come

Thy play be run

...At home as it is away

......Give us this day our Sunday win

And forgive us our turnovers

Though we pounce on those who turnover against us

And lead us not into fourth and long

But deliver us from Rogers

In the name of Ditka, Butkus & the Holy Payton.

As it was in 1985 so shall it be in 2011

reign without end

AMEN!

To my Bears on the eve of battle: Men, you face an invading barbarian hoard of marauders from the north, they possess not your discipline, nor your love of beauty nor of civilization, they seek only to burn that which makes us great. Stand fast, keep your line, trust your shield and your brother beside you, and know that your enemies will roar with passion, they will cry out in their godless tongue as they hurtle themselves toward your line, even as you cut them down. Put your faith in your captains, let your souls be still as you do your work and utter not a sound in exclamation until your victory is assured. Remember the noble words of Seneca, "that which fortune has not given, she cannot take away."

and when the last of the heathen rabble has been disbursed, let your cry then go up: BEAR DOWN, CHICAGO VICTORE!

Waking up this morning to a fresh coating of lake effect snow really is the best possible way to start this day.

You slept?

Amazingly. Not great sleep. I think I was up from 1:45 to 3 and woke up a couple more times, but overall I got enough.

I got a crapload of warm clothing from my younger brother, including boots. I would've been screwed without all that stuff.

I would be looking forward to this experience, but since I'm in row 35 of a 400 level section, there's no way I can hit the bathroom during the game without missing at least some action. I got caught in the bathroom line for the Divisional Playoff game against Seattle 4 years back and despite being in the 1st row of 440, I had to bail out of the bathroom with halftime winding down. Just barely made it back to my seat. Took my about 5 minutes just to leave the line and get out of the bathroom, too.

Bears 31, Packers 14

I hope there's another ark built just in case erik's tears flood the earth.

There will be no tears on this end if the Packers lose. I'll be disappointed, sure, maybe even angry for a while, but I'll get over it. As I said, I'll come on here and give the Bears their due respect if they win.
