It's crazy that either the Falcons (last SB: 1998), Packers (last SB: 1997), Bears (last SB: 2006), or Seahawks (last SB: 2005) will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.

Packers @ Bears for the NFC championship would probably be the second biggest (for lack of a better term) sporting event I've ever watched. '07 Super Bowl is number one.

None of the 90's Bulls games can compare because I was to young to be as wrapped up as I wouldl be in this, and I never really thought the Bulls would lose.

The '03 Cubs playoff run is too much of a haze for me to compare, and has been ruined with time. But I still thing none of those games could reach a Packers/Bears NFC championship game.

And I only passively follow hockey, so last years Stanley Cup run was fun I just wasn't that invested.

They're the most dangerous team in the NFC easily. How can you not see that?

they are the GREATEST #6 SEED EVER. I can see that.

Are you sulley's apprentice or something?

Agreed. The only thing that would be more epic (for me at least) is a Cubs/Cardinals NLCS

I know I picked the Packers to win the Super bowl I'm having a hard time seeing them get by Atlanta. Atlanta is a legit very, very good team and it will be tough beating them down there. I don't know if the Bears vs Packers NFC title game will happen.

I'm conflicted.

If we get past Atlanta, part of me wants Seattle to win, because they're obviously the weaker team. But then there's a part of me that wants the Bears to win so we can clinch a Super Bowl berth on enemy territory. Oh, how sweet it would be.

We hung with them earlier this year down there. It'll be a tough game for sure, but I think the Packers may be able to squeak one out. They can't get dumb with penalties, however, and they have to play to the best of their abilities. None of their key guys can have an "off" game.

If I was a Packers fan, I don't know how I'd feel about facing the Seahawks after beating the Saints and Bears and having a crapload of momentum and a game at Qwest field. Not sounding cocky (i'm trying to write as a general NFL fan), but if they beat the Bears after beating the Saints, something strange is going on and I wouldn't want anything to do with playing them.

I learned my lesson after rooting like hell for the Giants against the Cowboys in 07. If we win on Saturday, I'll have no rooting interest on Sunday.

That sums up my thoughts. While I'd be estatic to go to the next round going to Qwest for a trip to the Super Bowl against the ultimate underdog could be disastrous. Than again the Bears are really good too. I just want to win and worry about the other crap later.

Well OK, but for any of us who were around those Bulls championship wins easily, easily eclipse a Bears/Packers game that isn't even for all the marbles.

Just is.

no matter how good they look or how much momentum they have or whatever, every team should want to play the seahawks because they are the least talented team in the playoffs

this isn't a slight to any seahawsk fan or any sort of shaking of my fist at the football gods because obviously its football and anyone can win on any day, but they are just not a very good team. so even if they do go on a mini run and take out the bears too, and they very likely can because the bears have a horrible offensive line, can turn the ball over, and just plain can lose a game to any team in the league, you still want to play them.

but i do understand the desire to see a packers-bears superbowl just for the [expletive] spectacle of it all, because christ, the city would explode (and then instantly deflate when rodgers cuts us up for 400 yards)

Two teams I did not want to see even make it to the Super Bowl were Saints and Eagles.

This has been a good weekend.

I haven't decided on my rooting interests for the rest of the playoffs. I figured I would be rooting against those two a little longer. Very good outcomes this weekend.
