that's true, it's only the Lions who get attention and ridicule for such a complete non-issue like this

Pretty sure the Raiders would. Maybe the Redskins

I think people would love to rip on Jerry Jones or Bill Belichek for that too...

The Raiders don't need to because everyone knows who they're targeting already.

I'm hardly in the know at all about this, but in the opinion of the board, who do you see the Packers taking in the 1st round?

They are taking whoever they feel is the best player. Sorry, that's a vague response, but it's true. If I had to place a bet, I would guess either OLB on the other side of Matthews (Brooks Reed, Akeem Ayers if he's there) or a DE (Cam Heyward, Muhammad Wilkerson if he's there). But I could also see them picking OT, CB, WR, or a longshot of RB (if Ingram falls or they really like LeShoure/Ryan Williams).

Awesome. Thanks for the info!

Where does Clay Matthew's little brother project to go?

The more I'm thinking about the Bears trading down... The more I think that they won't get an extra pick in this year's draft. I've been thinking of other teams like the Pats who trades down a lot. I'm just not sure if a team is willing to trade both a 2nd and 3rd round pick this year (esp with the lockout going on and no FA at the moment). Pats does it because they're willing to take future picks. So it made me think and wanted to ask this question...

What if the Bears couldn't get a 2nd/3rd round pick this year for the 29th pick, but instead was getting offers like 2nd round this year and 2nd round next year (so 2/2/3/4/5/6 this year but 1/2/2/3/4/5/6/7 next year) or a 3rd round this year and a 1st round next year (so 2/3/3/4/5/6 this year but 1/1/2/3/4/5/6/7 next year)... The only way I'm thinking a team might trade 2 picks this year is if it's like 2nd and 4th round pick maybe or a team is really desperate and a guy they REALLY want slid down all the way to 29th pick.

Would you guys do that??? I'm not sure if my situation would work or not (2nd this year and next or 3rd this year and 1st next year), but I'm thinking that Bears will get an extra pick if they trade down- it's just going to be a future pick instead of this year...

If you go by the draft pick trade chart, the only way to get a 2nd AND 3rd would be to trade into the mid-40s or later, or throw in a pick on your end like a 1st and 5th for a 2nd and 3rd.

I would rather not trade for picks in 2012. With a good draft, the Bears can take the next step this year. Hopefully, by 2012, the only needs will be a franchise LT and the rest will be depth. Ideally, I'd like to get a 2nd and 3rd without giving up any picks, but I don't know if I want to wait until 45-50 for the first pick. I'd take a trade for a pick in the 30s and an early 4th rounder (still in the top 110 picks) over giving up a pick on our end.

Just a question here, but how far does everyone think Duenta Williams falls due to his leg injury?

He's a player that I really liked at safety...and saw him as a possible high second rounder before the broken leg. Is he third rounder...fourth rounder?

I'm just curious.

Safety is going to be a position that falls. The first safety off the board will be Rahim Moore (depending on if you think Aaron Williams is still a CB or not). And he probably won't go until the 50s at best. Deunta Williams is probably outside of the next group of safeties (Sash- Iowa, McDaniel- Clemson, Carter- Okla, Conte- Cal). I don't think he'll make it into the 3rd under almost any circumstance. He may even fall to the 5th, as he's been able to do nothing since breaking his leg a few months ago.

Peter King has the Vikings taking Locker at 12, Pro Football Talk has the Redskins taking him at 10.

It's so important that the Vikings nail this QB pick, I don't care if they take him at 12 if they're completely sold on him.

If he's there in the fifth, I'd hope the Cowboys grab him. I'd probably even spend a 4th on him.

it seems like the majority of expert mocks have us taking Amukamara, which is just setting me up for terrible disappointment

is this the agreed upon most likely top-12 right now?

1 Car - Newton

2 Den - Dareus

3 Buf - Miller (alt: Gabbert)

4 Cin - Green

5 Ari - Peterson (Miller)

6 Cle - Quinn

7 SF - Gabbert (Peterson)

8 Ten - Fairley

9 Dal - T.Smith

10 Was - J.Jones

11 Ten - A.Smith

12 Min - C.Jordan

Almost every mock I've seen has the Cardinals taking Von Miller. I've not seen a true consensus for the Bills yet - I've seen Gabbert, Green and Jones most often.

Haven't paid much attention of late. Didn't realize Bowers is expected to fall out of the top 12.

Word is Cowboys are looking at JJ Watt over Tyron Smith. But yeah, that's what I'm thinking other than that.

There have been a bunch of questions about his knee and that's making him plummet it seems.

He also apparently had a pretty awful pro day.

Interesting pics of some of the draft prospects back when they were in high school to now. I think Von Miller was starved to death prior to college.

oh man, i'd love it if Ponder & Dalton went in the top 12

but we're probably the deepest team in the league at the DT position, so Fairley makes about as much sense as a QB, though i'd love to see all the personal fouls he and Suh could commit together
