i don't think redick would have changed much. this team will ultimately need someone to log heavy minutes at the 2-3 who can play off the ball and can slash to the basket.

That's what Ronnie Brewer is for. We need a guy who can shoot.

I'm not trading Ronnie Brewer for JR Smith. Call me a homer all you want, but I've been really pleased with Brewer as of late. Smith would get quite a few open shots on the perimeter in our offense but he'd also give up quite a few points on the defensive end. It's not worth the gamble.

And hasn't Redick been pretty bad this year? I know he's been hampered by that flu bug, but he wasn't really playing all that well before that either.

Redick hasn't done well so far this year, but I still think he'd have been perfect in the Bulls system this year.

Bulls' Noah to have surgery on right thumb

TORONTO -- Joakim Noah is scheduled to undergo surgery on his right thumb, two team sources told the Tribune.

The Bulls' starting center could be sidelined for up to 10 weeks.

Noah played with the injury Wednesday night against the Raptors after team physicians determined he could do no further damage to the injury.

There is still a small chance the surgery could be delayed. But at this point, the Bulls are scheduled to announce the surgery on Thursday.

There are no words. That won't get filtered.

heartbroken again.

it was going too good for the bulls. something HAD to happen

this is a killer. we'll still be good, i guess, but i didn't want "good". we were on our way to 50+ wins and a chance at a 3 seed.

forget all that now. probably like 47-35 or something

Doctors said he can't damage the thumb any further by playing. And even with a bum thumb, he's got a double-double tonight; Noah with one hand is still probably better than extended minutes for Asik.

ok lets say he comes back february 23rd. that's 30 games missed.

let's say we would have gone 20-10 with him. what would you guys guess we'd go without him?

in other words, if he misses a 30 game stretch, how many games do you think that actually costs us? 4? 5?

It's not devastating. It happened at the best possible time in the schedule, and with Boozer heating up, I think the Bulls will manage fine

I blame my dumb Packers luck on all of the Hawks injuries and this Noah injury.

It stinks, but Asik can hopefully handle the little sisters of the poor. If there was a time for Noah to miss a month or two, this is it.

4 or 5 wins in a 30 game stretch would mean he was a 12 win player over a full season. That sounds high

that's what kills me though. i don't want to "manage". i want to be a badass team that everybody knows is good. i wanted to take off and win like 55 games. i wanted to dominate.

now whatever we do, i'm gonna feel like "yeah, but what if....."

things were going so well....

I think we would've done better than 20-10 with him and think we can go 20-10 without him.

Look at the next 30 games again.

This was my thought. Aren't there like 8 games against teams that aren't terrible in the next 30?

dex, I hate this too but you gotta think this Rose-Boozer-Noah core will be together for multiple years. This is just the start. Maybe we only win 45 games this year or something, but we can still have a solid playoffs and scare some teams. I'm pretty sure everyone will know we are badass.

Noah/Taj/Asik is probably comparable in value to Boozer/Taj/Asik and look how well we did in the tough part of our schedule with the former.

Trade him for Melo now!

JK. Omer Asik is looked better than I thought he would, but let's see how he does in extended duty. Kurt Thomas I hope you don't have bed sores from sitting on the bench so long. I guess this explains why Noah's production had slipped recently.

How did this injury occur?

Posted

I'm just not that worried about the injury as maybe I should be. Maybe it's the win streak or maybe it's the schedule coming up but we'll be just fine. The way I see it now is Noah will have more energy to bring for the playoffs now.

We've been playing just fine lately and Noah hasn't really played all that great since Boozer came back really. Asik getting a lot of minute would not be fun though.
