Another game against the Hornets, another time I am yet again just astounded at how bitter Hornets blogs and fans are against Rose and the Bulls.

Hmmm...their SBnation blog doesn't seem to be too rough.

Heh, they had a bullet point in the recap ripping the Bulls and how easy they are to defend and would struggle to get out of the first round if they depended on Rose so much, but it appears the author deleted it.

Interesting data from a SBNation blog post about how different the Bulls are offensively/defensively depending on who is playing shooting guard (Bogans, Brewer, Korver, Watson).

Turns out, the Bulls are the most efficient offensive team in the NBA during the 500 or so minutes Korver is on the floor with Rose, Deng and Boozer, and the most efficient defensive team in NBA history when Brewer joins them (I'm sure Noah helps, but there isn't much data with Noah+Boozer together yet).

Now that it looks like the Spurs won't win 70, yep. Pops is the only competition.

I've heard Collins and Hollins bandied about as well, but I think Thibs is a runaway.

I didn't know we had a Westchester

Me either. When I reserved the hotel thru priceline it gave the location as Westchester/Oak Brook, had me confused.

I'm not sure but did most people consider Paul the best PG going into this year even after his injury plagued season? While it seems Rose is now the best PG in the game, I'd still put Deron Williams at number 2.

I remember before the year started there was a discussion about Rose and what people's expectations were of him. Most of us thought he was top 3-5 and had a year or 2 before he would be the best, he sure showed all of us wrong.

Popovich is leading ESPN's "awards watch"

Posted
The awards watch was last updated Feb 15th. I'd guess that's going to be changing.

I just pulled up March 1st today, so 6 days old. The point was that Popovich is a serious contender as well.

Not sure how old this is, but I just saw it and it is damn funny so I decided to share it here.

It's a few days old. Somebody posted a youtube video of it looping repeatedly.

Tell me how this makes sense. Yesterday, the Bulls were 2nd in Hollinger's Power Rankings, just .003 points behind the Lakers for first. The Lakers were idle, while the Bulls beat the 14th team in the rankings by 8 points. Flash forward to today, and the Lakers dropped .005 points, while the Bulls dropped .055 points. I know it has to do with Margin of victory, and schedule strength and opponents schedule strength, etc. But I would have figured that beating an 8 game over .500 team by more than our average margin of victory for the year would make us gain points.

A 9 point home win over Orlando fell off the "last 25%" list of games, and was replaced with last night's result. Net result: slight negative.
