Does anyone have his full stats? Curious to see his BA/OBP and how many walks he drew. You'd think a guy as patient as Murton might struggle to break a record like this.

How his stats were not a part of this article is beyond me.

When Suzuki set the record, the regular season consisted of 130 games. Since then, the season has been extended by 14 games, and Murton was playing in his 142nd game of the season.

So basically Murton did to Ichiro what Ichiro did to Sisler.

I was always a huge fan of Murton. I even went so far as to name my cat Murt. Since Murt died a week ago from a tumor this is a nice bit of news.

Looks like he hit .349 with an .894 OPS (7th in his league and 13th overall). Can't find a stats line, but you can piece together from the various leader boards that he had 88 RBI and fewer than 26 HRs.
