Do players who get traded in the mid-season have success with their new teams traditionally? It seems like there would be a few factors that a new player would have to overcome. For one, doesn't a player pretty much have to learn a new offense on the fly?

Favre can just call the play and tell Moss what route to run until he learns the offense.

Frick. I was hoping the Vikes would crash and burn and not be able to get Brett any weapons.

Not a good week to be a Packer fan. We lost out on Lynch, we'll have to face Moss twice this year now, and McNabb scares the crap out of me on Sunday.

Basically. Favre and Moss have been around enough that it shouldn't be a problem for the routes he'll be running initially. Hopefully he causes Revis to pull up lame again after getting scorched.

Can't believe it only took a 3rd. The Vikings have acquired two 5ths since preseason so they can at least maybe package those for a 4 to limit the loss of that 3rd.

Typically just a throwaway but the Vikings will receive the Pats 7th rounder. With the two 5's and a 7 that they can move up to at least a 4 if they so choose and negate much of the loss of the 3.

The same McNabb that went 8/19 last week with no real receiving weapons besides Cooley? That doesn't scare me. But it's tough to win a road game (or any game) when you have no real threat of a running game. I'm expecting a game that's similar to the Bears game -- much more of a lower scoring game than people think.

At least Woodson's going to be on Moss so we don't have to deal with Al Harris getting embarrassed by him again. And I don't really think we "lost out" on Lynch either. Thompson just didn't want to give up a higher pick for him. That's all there was to it.

The season's over if we truly think John Kuhn and Brandon Jackson are good enough to win the NFC. The stubbornness of this regime is getting really old.

That's what I thought, until I realized he was traded for like a 4th rounder.

The Vies gave up a 3rd rounder for Randy Moss, and the Panthers gave up a 2nd rounder for Armanti Edwards. Ugh.

Seattle's 4th rounder should end up being better than our 4th rounder, so it's rumored that Thompson wouldn't give up our 3rd rounder.

Which I don't think is that much to give up for Lynch. However, I also don't think the run game is the problem with the team right now. It's not like we are not scoring points.

Thank God they didn't bend over for the Chargers and give up a 2 and 4.

Apparently Bill Barnwell hasn't watched a Vikings game over the last two years. His piece on espn.com misses the mark about as badly as possible. Rice isn't a dynamic down the field guy but Harvin is? And Harvin is the downfield, deep threat while Sidney is more of an intermediate guy? What?

Barnett had a setback with his wrist injury. Besides Harris/Bigby/Burnett being out, we're also going to be without Barnett, Chillar, and possibly Shields. That means Hawk and Bishop are going to get a ton of playing time, as will Martin and Bush.

I take back what I said earlier. McNabb's going to have a good game on Sunday.

It's ridiculous how many injuries we've had on the defensive side of the ball this year, to go along with losing Grant for the season.

With the news about Barnett and Portis, I'm feeling good about my ffb decision to grab Torain for the week to fill in for Mendenhall's bye week.

Well the Packers did ranked 1st in the league against the run last week. And the guy who will replace him Desmond Bishop is a pretty good run stopper. However it would not shock me to see Torain go off.

For being 3-1 this season kind of sucks.

Dammit! This season sucks already.

This has to be the most frustrating 3-1 start I've ever experienced.

This week has been just outstanding. We lose two defensive starters for the season, we fail to acquire Lynch, Minnesota trades for Moss and we have the most difficult part of our schedule coming up. Other than that, everything's going great.
