the phillies look really tough to me in the NL. i think the reds are cannon fodder, and i think texas is the same in the AL.

phillies vs reds: phillies in 3

giants vs braves: giants in 5

rays vs rangers: rays in 4

yankees vs twins: yankees in 5

NLCS: phillies over giants in 5

ALCS: yankees over rays in 6

world series: yankees over phillies in 7 :x

P.S. - just took a look back at my predictions for this season. i had the mariners winning that AL west and don wakamatsu winning AL manager of the year. awesome.

Phillies over Reds in 4 (Crazier things have happened, but I cannot envision a scenario where the Reds win this series. I'm being generous giving them a game, meaning I am assuming they can beat one of Halladay, Hamels, or Oswalt)

Giants over Braves in 4 (Don't really have much input in this series. The Braves could probably win but I like the Giants hitter better and the Braves struggled the last couple of months)

Rangers over Rays in 5 (more or less a pick of hope. The Rangers have had a pathetic history. This is the 4th ever playoff series they've been in, they've never been to an ALCS and they've only won 1 playoff game ever. I also think that they have played the Yankees in every playoff series they've had so it is nice to see them playing someone else, although they almost drew the Yanks again.)

Yankees over Twins in 3 (Just a gut feeling. I really like the Twins team, I just don't like the matchup with NY and I feel the Yanks are gonna step it up come playoff time. The Twins can be competitive in this series and it wouldn't shock me)

Phillies over Giants in 4 (Just can't see the Giants hitters keeping up against the Phillies bats. Phils will be able to score enough off the Giants to make this an easy series)

Yankees over Rangers in 6 (yeah a repeat of last years WS. If the Rangers can get this far that means they are playing well enough to compete in this series but the Yankees will be in control all series. I see it being a series where the Yankees go up 3-1, the Rangers take game 5 and then the Yanks finish them off in Texas).

Phillies over Yankees (revenge. The series should be closer than last year. I actually don't mind seeing this matchup again. They are clearly the 2 most talented teams in baseball and it would be a good matchup)

Really looking forward to these playoffs. Good to see some teams that never make the playoffs get in (Reds and Rangers), a couple of moderate to low payroll teams (Rays, Twins), 2 teams that haven't been there for at least a few years (Giants, Braves), and the mainstays (Yankees, Phillies).

Who did you pick in the pre-season bcl412?

I think I remember him picking the Braves and the Yankees in the pre-season. I can't remember for sure though, let's see if he responds and tells us.

I'm very proud of that pick.

I have no idea how they hell I tripled posted there.

By the way it was Braves vs Yankees in the pre season.

Are you going to stick with that?

lol...funniest thing i have seen on here in a while...

***Disclaimer***

I predicted the Rays over the Braves in the World Series at the beginning of the season.

Rays v. Rangers - Rangers in 4

Twins v. Yankees - Yankees in 5

Reds v. Phillies - Reds in 5

Giants v. Braves - Braves in 5

Rangers v. Yankees - Rangers in 6

Braves v. Reds - Reds in 7

Rangers v. Reds - Rangers in 6

I doubt I am right, but regardless I have a feeling the World Series will have a very interesting match-up this year. I think it is entirely possible the Twins could steal the series from the Yankees. Likewise, I wouldn't be shocked to see the Braves or the Giants in the series either. Basically, as strong as the Phillies are this season, I don't think they make it.

I'll say:

Twins over Yanks in 5

Tampa over Texas in 4

Phils over Reds in 4

Giants over Braves in 4

ALCS: Tampa over Min in 6

NLCS: Phils over Giants in 5

Phils over Tampa in 7

But I suck at predictions so don't be surprised if I picked every single LDS winner wrong.

all i care about is that the reds do not win a single game in the post season. not 1.

predicting the playoffs never turns out well, but here goes.

phils over reds in 3

braves over giants in 4

rays over rangers in 5

yankees over twins in 3

braves over phillies in 6

rays over yankees in 7

bravers over rays in 6 and bobby cox retires a world champ!

Come on Twins, at least get to the second round. I have a ticket to home game one of the ALCS.

i have a couple of friends who are big twins fans and they are sick of getting knocked out by the yankees.

I want Rangers/Giants for the WS, with the Giants winning in the end. I like both teams for some reason.

However, something tells me we'll end up with Phillies/Yankees with the Yankees winning...again.

Not a major Twins fan, but I'd like them to do well in the playoffs. It was lame though, because I got into the virtual waiting room the second it opened up for ALCS tickets and they only had single tickets available for non standing room seats. Guess I'll either go by myself or sell for massive profit if they make it.

Definitely don't want the Giants to do anything and ditto for the Reds. Just happy that they're not meeting in the first round so hopefully they can both get knocked out quickly. Don't really care about the AL as long as it isn't the Yankees winning it.

All I'm hoping for is either the Rays or Rangers to win their series in 3. If it goes to game four, it's going to be a cluster[expletive] trying to get out of the Cowboys game on Sunday with the Rangers hosting a playoff game and the shared parking lots between the two stadiums.

The only rooting interest I have in this postseason is "not the Yankees." I have teams I want to see win more than others, but the Yankees are the only playoff team I'll be rooting against.

If it's Twins vs. Rays/Rangers in the ALCS, I'm just going to enjoy some good postseason baseball without the burden of a rooting interest.

The NL I couldn't possibly care less. I guess either Giants or Phillies if I had to root, but if the Reds or Braves win the pennant it won't upset me.

how could any rational cub fan be okay with dusty baker winning a world series as manager of another team in the division?

Yeah, I want them out in 3.

If he wins a World Series with the Reds, it really doesn't justify that I was incorrect in my evaluation of him. It just means they got really hot come playoff time and were lucky enough to not be in many situations where Dusty's decisions would kill them.

I'm not actively rooting for the Reds, but I wouldn't really be devistated if they won a WS with Dusty. I'd prefer they not but, not enough that I'm rooting against them with a passion. Plus it probably pisses off the large contingent of Reds fans that inexplicably hate us to see Cubs fans not strongly rooting against them.
