I was stunned. Played it back like 3 times to make sure I wasn't missing something.

 

Earlier in the day I heard Phil Simms complain about the NFL's pass interference rule being such a huge play because teams can throw it up and get a 50 yard penalty. Yet he also said he doesn't like the NCAA's rule because then teams can just tackle guys on a long pass and it's only 15 yards. Gumble asked if something in the middle would be better and he wasn't sure about that either.

It's also irrelevant. No other team in NFL history has been 6-42 over three seasons. The only thing they are good at it is being terrible. They have less talent than any other team, a rookie quarterback and Steven Jackson played one quarter. They had two guys named Darby and Toston in the backfield and still managed to beat a pretty good Redskins team.

so the talent on this year's team, and the talent of the opposition, and the location of the game, all of those things are less relevant than how the team performed in the last three years. got it.

Not really. Week 1 sure, brilliant in week 2, and really good so far tonight. Last season was up and down as you'd expect from a rookie QB (who came out a year early after only starting 15 games in college) and he played pretty well in the playoffs.

 

He's probably better than Carson Palmer at this point, sadly.
