Agreed. I've hated the IR rule for as long as I can remember.

What don't you guys like about the IR rule? All I know is that being placed on IR makes you out for the rest of the year.

there's not really something in the NFL like the 15-day DL, where you know a guy is going to miss a couple of weeks but be back after that. so if you have a bunch of guys who are dinged up you have to either be short a few on the 53 man roster or put them on IR, in which case you lose them for longer than you want.

can't believe steven jackson got hurt, that rarely happens

 

On the play he got hurt, some Redskins player pulled his leg when he was on the ground, which probably caused the injury to his groin.

Ah, ok. Never paid enough attention to that. I've heard of guys being placed on the PUP list for the first six weeks and IR later but never knew there wasn't anything like PUP for the rest of the season.
