Marlins; radio announcers said it would be Volstad on Sunday, but ESPN & CUBS.com say it's Miller. We'll see.

Watch for the KUBS Kiddie Korps lineup on Sunday.

Let's hope Samardzija will be as lucky as he was last time out.

Wow. Colvin just got spiked by a broken bat in the upper left chest on his way to home plate.

Hope he is alright.

That looked like it hurt....OW

If he or the bat was angled slightly different it would have gone through his heart

Wow. That was really scary. You could tell he was really hurting, too. I hope he'll be OK. When that bat broke I was thinking how hard it broke, too.

Well, let's see now......

Samardzija gets a quality start and a win......

The B-squad Bombers put up 13 runs........

CUBS tie the MLB season high for walks by one team in a 9 inning game with 12.......

CUBS win their 6th in a row to finish an 8-1 road trip and have won 16 out of their last 23.........

BEARS invade Dallas and come out with a win.......

Yep, the world is about to end !!!!

Btw.... Tyler Colvin is resting comfortably in stable condition. No word yet on how bad the injury is or how long he'll be laid up.

Go CUBS !!

Colvin to remain in Miami hospital 2-3 days. Bat punctured chest wall. Air got in. Lungs ok. Still stable.

wow. Kind of crazy he was able to stay standing and jog home. Sounds like it could have been easily fatal.

Tyler Colvin (chest) will remain in the hospital for a few days.

He was impaled by a broken bat in his upper left chest during Sunday's game. A tube was inserted in his chest to allow air in and prevent his lung from collapsing. It's a scary situation, but fortunately it appears as though Colvin will be OK.

Hopefully all will be well. One of the craziest things I have ever seen.

Holy crap!

Glad he is okay. That is scary.

Didn't Len and Bob say the Cubs' franchise record for walks in a game is 12?

I didn't hear Len & Bob, but 12 is the Marlins' franchise record for walks allowed. I'd be surprised if it's also the CUBS' record for walks drawn.

According to Elias Sports Bureau this was the Cubs' best road trip (minimum of 9 games), in terms of winning percentage, in team history.

The last three of four series should be somewhat fun. We get to help decide the NL West race and we get the Cardinals one more time. I'm somewhat excited for the end of the month. At least as excited as I can get for meaningless baseball (for the Cubs at least.)

Of course it is. The 68-81 Cubs just finished the best 9+ game road trip in team history. Where was this back in June?

That's probably what they were talking about. I probably just misunderstood them. Thanks, Fred.
