Blackhawks 1 year reign of Central Division champions is over as the Red Wings clinched last night. Stanley Cup reign will surely be ending sometime soon as well :(

I dont remember who owes me a nickle!!!!!

Congrats on beating out a team with their 3rd string QB in most of the year. Wait, wrong rivalry.

Congrats on beating out a team struggling with major injuries most of the year :) I believe that's the congrats we got from Red Wings fans last year. Then we won the Cup.

its not that serious to me. I have a feeling the Wings will be upset in the 1st round this year, which is a lot more serious to me.

Annnnnd the Hawks are losing 1-0 midway through the 2nd.

I'm really worried we're not going to win another game at this point.

At this point I would of course settle for the 2 points, but if they are to get 2 points, I would love for it to be in regulation because we need the regulation win for the tiebreaker with the Stars.

Oh sweet, Troy Brouwer looks really hurt curling on the ice. I guess its been 3-4 games since the Hawks suffered a serious injury, so it was due.

Dammit Brouwer looks seriously hurt. We just can't catch a [expletive] break this year. If this is the cost of winning the Cup, that's fine. But still it sucks.

Corey Crawford has had a fantastic game. It should be like 3-1 Montreal right now. Canucks have had a ton of good looks this period. Reminds me of the 3rd period of the game in Florida.

And of course the Montreal goalie is standing on his head right now as well.

Hawks get a point. Doesn't help our tiebreaker with Dallas, but obviously a point and a chance for another is more important.

[expletive] Hawks get a penalty called on them approximately 10 seconds after the play happened (the Hawks were controlling the puck the entire time)

And the Hawks lose on the PP.

The Blackhawks will likely be just 2 points up on the Stars after tonight, and the Stars will likely pull to within 1 regulation win of Chicago. The choke continues.

Hawks have scored 1 goal in the last 133 minutes of hockey and lost another key player to injury tonight.

I'm starting to think either the Hawks or Anaheim is going to be the odd team out. Anaheim has LA twice and SJ, the Hawks have Detroit twice and St. Louis tomorrow. They are tied in points and games played, but Anaheim has the tiebreaker locked up over the Hawks. I know I'm being overly pessimistic, but at this point I don't think the Hawks get in unless somehow the Hawks simply play better than they have been. They are going to need probably 3 more points to have any shot. If they win tomorrow that will give us a good chance, only needing to take 1 or 2 from Detroit.

Too bad because that was an incredible game to watch. Up and down the ice all night, intense atmosphere, tons of chances for both teams, great goaltending. Gotta get 2 tomorrow night, preferably in regulation. Subban was a headache all night.

I agree it was a very entertaining game overall

I don't know where this whole thought process comes from that Dallas is guaranteed their last 6 points. This a team that has won 8 games since February 1. Yeah, their schedule (vs Colorado, @ Colroado, @ Minnesota) is easy, but it's not automatic.

Not 6 more. I said the Hawks need 3 more points to have a shot because Dallas is almost definitely going to get 4 more points in their last 3 games. If they get 4 more points we need 3 to win outright, or 2 points to tie Dallas. And if we are tied, its gonna depend on how Chicago and Dallas get their remaining points. If Dallas gets 2 regulation wins, and Chicago gets 2 SOL, then Dallas gets the playoff spot. If they tie in regulation wins, it goes to points earned H2H, and the Blackhawks immediately lose that one.

So realistically, the Hawks probably need to end up with more points than Dallas to make the playoffs. Tonight is a huge game because its the most winnable game left. If the Hawks want to make the playoffs, they should probably get a regulation victory tonight.

Also, a win tonight all but eliminates Calgary from consideration. Hawks are 2 points up and a game in hand. If they win tonight, its impossible for Calgary to pass us in points, and we have the tiebreaker locked down between us whether or not the 2 points come in regulation or OT or SO.
