Why isn't Marmol's season getting the attention it deserves. It's better than the year that "won" a Cy Young Award for Eric Gagne.

In 2003, batters OPSed .374 off Gagne. He had a .69 WHIP. A 1.14 xFIP (less than half of Marmol's best). Gagne's 2003 was better than Marmol's 2010 like Sosa's 2001 was better than Pierre's 2003 .

for the past three years his slider is third overall in total pitch value, behind only Ervin Santana and Dempster, both of whom have thrown it at a much lower efficiency

I wouldn't be. I'm far from an expert on best arms but I would have to think there are three rightfielders in each league with better arms than Soriano.
