It does seem possible he could make a comeback in a couple years.

Man, that would be amazing :)

You're right, if anyone can re-develop Rex, it would be Shanahan. I don't know if that's how they view Rex, though. But I would be fascinated if it happened.

A league source said the Bears have informed other clubs that running back Garrett Wolfe and safety Al Afalava could be traded. That doesn't mean they will be or they're destined to be released, but the fishing line has been cast.

Did Afalava kick Lovie's dog or something?

No, he just played bad football. Of course, that doesn't stop Lovie from giving Danieal Manning a starting job at a new position every year.

I'd hate to lose Wolfe's ST ability, especially after losing Adrian Peterson there this offseason, and potentially losing Idonije if he's the starting DE. Between all the backup LBs and DBs the Bears have, still should be decent.

And playing bad football wasn't enough to lose his starting job last year. I just find it hard to believe that a rookie that started a full season isn't good enough to even make the team the next year. I'm not gonna lose sleep over it or anything...just seems strange.

Well, they traded for a safety, drafted a safety with their first pick, and had another safety step up and have a great camp. Afalava has to clearly be behind Harris, Wright, Manning, and Steltz right now.

Forget Williams. How did Louis look?

vs. Oakland? I don't think he was great on pass blocking but I thought he looked good on run blocking, especially on his pulls. He had a great kickout block on Forte's long run

Thanks.

Yep. He would have had a TD if Jay could have hit him on stride.

The protection is still not good. Jay makes plays when the protection breaks down, he moves around, and makes a play. 2 sacks already.

That's some wretched 3rd down D.

Bowman hurt his hand on that drive.

Man our special teams has been absolutely atrocious this preseason. Gave up long returns in the first game, 2 botched snaps on an XP and FG in the 2nd game, blocked FGA in the third game.

Lou Canillis is right with 2 out of our 3 starting LBs out again, it's looking like last year in this game. I hope Briggs' injury isn't bad.
