Here is the final one. I think the last group is correct, but it's complicated.

GROUP A GP	W	D	L	PTS	GD	GF
 Uruguay	3	2	1	0	7	+4	4
 Mexico	3	1	1	1	4	+1	3
 South Africa	3	1	1	1	4	-2	3
 France	3	0	1	2	1	-3	1

URU and MEX advance, URU wins the group.

GROUP B GP	W	D	L	PTS	GD	GF
 Argentina	3	3	0	0	9	+6	7
 South Korea	3	1	1	1	4	-1	5
 Greece	3	1	0	2	3	-3	2
 Nigeria	3	0	1	2	1	-2	3

ARG and SK advance, ARG wins the group.

GROUP C GP	W	D	L	PTS	GD	GF
 United States	3	1	2	0	5	+1	4
 England	3	1	2	0	5	+1	2
 Slovenia	3	1	1	1	4	E	3
 Algeria	3	0	1	2	1	-2	0

US and ENG advance, USA wins the group.

GROUP D GP	W	D	L	PTS	GD	GF
 Germany	3	2	0	1	6	+4	5
 Ghana 3	1	1	1	4	E	2
 Serbia	3	1	0	2	3	-1	3
 Australia	3	1	1	1	1	-3	2

GER and GHN advance, GER wins the group.

GROUP E GP	W	D	L	PTS	GD	GF
 Netherlands	3	3	0	0	9	+5	5
 Japan 3	2	0	1	6	+2	4
 Denmark	3	1	0	2	3	-3	3
 Cameroon	3	0	0	3	0	-3	2

NETH and JAP advance, NETH wins the group.

GROUP F GP	W	D	L	PTS	GD	GF
 Paraguay	3	1	2	0	5	+2	3
 Slovakia	3	1	1	1	4	-1	4
 New Zealand	3	0	3	0	3	E	2
 Italy 3	0	2	1	2	-1	4

PAR and SVK advance, PAR wins the group.

GROUP G GP	W	D	L	PTS	GD	GF
 Brazil	2	2	0	0	6	+3	5
 Portugal	2	1	1	0	4	+7	7
 Ivory Coast	2	0	1	1	1	-2	1
 Best Korea	2	0	0	2	0	-8	1

FINAL ROUND: NK vs. CIV, BRA vs. POR
BRA has advanced
NK has advanced, according to the People's Channel.
POR advances with win or tie
POR loss requires CIV loss, tie, or to win on GD (POR has likely advanced unless CIV can also stomp NK and POR gets stomped)
CIV needs a win and a POR loss and to make up the GD (Hahaha good luck)

GROUP H GP	W	D	L	PTS	GD	GF
 Chile 2	2	0	0	6	+2	2
 Spain 2	1	0	1	3	+1	2
 Switzerland	2	1	0	1	3	E	1
 Honduras	2	0	0	2	0	-3	0

FINAL ROUND: SWI vs. HON, CHI vs. SPA,
This one is complicated.
IF: CHI wins, SWI wins: CHI/SWI are in
IF: CHI wins, SWI-HON ties: CHI/SWI advances.
IF: CHI-SPA ties, SWI-HON ties: CHI and SPA are in (SPA def. SWI on GD)
IF: CHI-SPA ties, HON wins: SPA and CHI are in.
IF: SPA wins, they are in (1-0 ties GD, gives SPA the GF adv.) and CHI needs SWI to tie or lose. If SWI wins, CHI and SWI go to GD/GF.
IF: CHI wins, HON wins: SPA, SWI and HON go to GD/GF
HON would have to win by 2 and SPA lose 2-0 to get it to the coin flip (SWI would be out)
If HON won 3-1, and SPA loses 2-0, HON would advance based on GF.

Group H:

CHI wins group with a tie or better, through with a loss if SWI loses, draws, finishes with fewer goals and same differential.

ESP through with a win, also through with a tie and SWI loss/tie.

SWI through with a win and ESP loss/tie, or win and better goals scored/differential than CHI.

HON through with a win by at least 2, and ESP loss by at least 2.

Here is the final one. I think the last group is correct, but it's complicated.

GROUP H GP	W	D	L	PTS	GD	GF
 Chile 2	2	0	0	6	+2	2
 Spain 2	1	0	1	3	+1	2
 Switzerland	2	1	0	1	3	E	1
 Honduras	2	0	0	2	0	-3	0

FINAL ROUND: SWI vs. HON, CHI vs. SPA,
This one is complicated.
IF: CHI wins, SWI wins: CHI/SWI are in
IF: CHI wins, SWI-HON ties: Depending on how many CHI wins by and if SWI scores, SWI or HON go on.

If Chile wins and Swi-Hon ties, Switzerland goes on 4 points to 3 for Spain.

If Spain wins, they'll have the GD advantage over Chile (Spain will be one better with a 1-0 win) and will move on.

If Spain wins 1-0 and Switzerland wins 1-0, Spain wins the group and Chile finishes second due to beating Switzerland. (GD and GF would be the same).

If Spain wins by more than one goal and Switzerland wins by exactly one goal, Spain wins the group and Switzerland gets second, both on goal differential.

If Spain wins by one goal and Switzerland wins by more than one goal, Spain and Switzerland advance and how much Switzerland wins by determines who wins the group.

I didn't really look at any situation involving Honduras winning since I'm assuming that either Spain or Switzerland will at least get a draw in their match.

North Korean state television aired full live coverage of the team's 7-0 World Cup loss to Portugal on Monday in what is believed to be a first for a North Korean football game taking place abroad.

Korean Central Broadcasting carried live coverage and commentary of the match in Cape Town, South Africa, ending the broadcast soon after Portugal beat North Korea 7-0. The broadcast was monitored in Pyongyang by international TV news agency APTN.

"The Portuguese won the game and now have four points," a commentator said when the match concluded. "We are ending our live broadcast now."

I don't know why I thought that was funny but I did.

I never realized this but if USA and Mexico both finish 2nd in their groups they'd be on pace for a QF matchup.

Funny thing is, according to Nate Silver's odds, that setup would occur with Ghana somehow winning the group and playing USA while Argentina winning their group and playing mexico. Sadly, I don't see Mexico getting past Argentina.

I'm getting way ahead of myself though.

It could also happen if both win their group. If one finishes first and the other second, they couldn't meet until the final.

A guy in South Africa got admitted to a hospital a few days ago with a vuvuzela up his ass. Apparently someone got so fed up with the noise he actually took the vuvuzela from him and shoved t up his ass. I'd link the article but I can't find it in English.

I'm excited about the final matches of group play starting today, but today's is kinda meh, as there is only really 1 spot to be decided, that being runner up in Group B.

Although I guess it will be interesting to see how France comes out today with all the drama and the desperate need to score 3+ goals when they haven't scored one all tournament.

Still hoping for the miracle of Uruguay and South Africa both winning and South Africa making up the goal difference.

1-0 South Africa!!

And Uruguay is definitely not sitting back and defending either, and have actually had the better chances so far in the match.

It's in line with the straight red shown to the Swiss player yesterday. Dempsey should be on notice for tomorrow...
