No. I love playing soccer, but watching it is the most tedious thing in the world.*

*Exceptions can be made on a case by case basis if I end up at a bar or party or some type of gathering where everyone is going ape [expletive] over one of the teams. That's [expletive] fun as hell.

Why are there two Yes options?

There's a very clear distinction between watching it, and tuning in on occasion. If the US is out in round 1, I doubt I will watch more than 1 full game after that. I might watch some in a moment of boredom, but that's all. Watching it suggest you are actually going to sit down and watch multiple games, including both semis, the finals and maybe the 3rd place game (I assume they have a 3rd place game).

That is my general feeling

The US literally has nothing to do with my enjoyment of the World Cup. I love it, and I'll watch it

Truth.

I'll obviously be disappointed if the US doesn't show well and advance out of the group stage, but I'm going to enjoy every other match I'll be able to watch (which will be as many as possible).

Plus there are at least 12 teams more entertaining to watch than the US.

I don't think I would give it another thought if the US wasn't in it. Still say the sport has to get rid of the goofy off size rule so maybe there can be some scoring, until then Americans will always think it is a secondary sport played by foreigners , though my daughter does play it

If the US is out, I'm done with it. But I'm basically a homer in most sports. I watch very few games in most sports that my team isn't playing in. NFL would be the biggest exception to that.

I think the big reason we can't get into it is that we can't DVR/tivo it.

We also like sports that make you think

Ah yes, the anti-soccer DVR act of 2008, I remember it well.

I'll bite. Why can't you DVR soccer? Plenty of people do that. Hell, I have.
