7-0 Pirates. Stop talking about the division, Len for [expletive] sake. This team is garbage.

I'm about 98.3% sure that you're actually CubsGM.

That's not what I was hoping for, Fart Master.

Mark Derosa just hit an RBI double.

Hahahahah! You're not seriously wishing they had DeRosa instead, right?

Not really. This team isn't going to contend, anyway. It would have been nice to have him last year, though.

Wait, the Pirates sac bunted with their #3 hitter?

It worked

Like it "worked" when the Cubs beat up on the Brewers with their forfeit lineup? Guess that makes it the smart decision.

He wasn't good for most of last year, too. The pitchers they got for him are much more valuable right now and down the line.

That .250/.319/.433 line would have really made a difference. The Cubs got a good return for him.

Why not just throw PH w/ Zambrano and have him throw a couple innings. This is about to get nasty

Makes more sense to use the well rested bullpen as opposed to the guy who went last night and was just recently converted from starting to relieving.

Hopefully getting swept by Dusty and the Reds next will get Lou fired.

Lou won't be fired, so please don't waste any of your time hoping for it.

Those slash stats were obtained while playing for different teams in different ballparks against different pitchers. His stats with the Cubs might have been better or worse, but they wouldn't have been the same.

No one in all of baseball liked the trade for the Cubs when it happened, and none of the guys the Cubs got are ranked in the organization's top 10 by BA.

I'm not saying it's not smart to sell high, but trading Derosa for questionable prospects when the team looked like a playoff contender was dumb, especially since his replacement was Aaron Miles for $4.9 million.

Tonight the Pirates are playing the role of Lawrence Taylor and the Cubs are playing the role of a 16 year old girl.

Haha. But, I thought the girl was 15?

There are no words to describe just how bad this team is right now.

Like I've said: If the team is going to tank, then go all-out and lose 95 games and get Hendry, Lou, and all the other dead weight out of here.

Does it really matter?

Man, there is no fight to the Cubs team tonight. They act as if the game is already over. Boy getting swept by the best team in baseball......wait the Pirates are not the best team in baseball? Could have fooled me after this series.

And what matters worse, if that the Cubs are about to run into a Reds team that is playing some good ball over the past 10 days. So no chance at reaching .500 anytime soon.

His worst stats came with the Cardinals, so what are the odds they would have been significantly better with just a different NL Central team?

Incorrect.

So what? They don't have to be in the top 10 to be of use and valuable. DeRosa wasn't a top 10 prospect kind of guy. Considering his age they got an excellent return for him and definitely sold high.

Not at all. It's smart to sell high when it seems like you've got a decent team. It's unfortunate that things played out as they did, but DeRosa wouldn't have made much of a difference if they held onto him. It's much better that they at least got players because of him who can hopefully still help the team in the future.

What other dead weight? Besides, odds are Lou was gone once his contract was up after this year anyway if they didn't contend (ie - making it past the 1st round of the playoffs), so I doubt some epic tanking was necessary. Same goes for Hendry, too.

My girl just asked an obvious question: "Why are you still watching this, they are losing eight to nothing."

so very true...

That could be the motto of the "Girlfriends of Baseball Fans" club.
