This is sad. On a side note, did anyone see that Kyle Farnsworth was voted the most intimidating player in baseball amongst his peers?

And what matters worse, if that the Cubs are about to run into a Reds team that is playing some good ball over the past 10 days. So no chance at reaching .500 anytime soon.

The Pirates lost three straight to the Dodgers, outscored 20-5, before the series with the Cubs. The Cubs hit the hell out of the ball the last three games of the D'backs series and won all 3. That after dropping 4 of 5 to the Mets and AZ with virtually no offense. The Brewers beat the crap out of the Bucs in a 3 game series only to get completely shut down the following series by the Cubs. It happens.

The play in the previous series often doesn't matter. The Reds have been just as inconsistent as the Cubs. And their manager is an even bigger idiot!

These Pittsburgh announcers might just be the most boring I've ever heard.

I'm assuming he devoured an old lady for those glasses, so maybe it was well deserved.

You're the man with the video, do you have the clip of him beating the [expletive] out of Paul Wilson?

I think I'd give Rammy a couple of games in a row off. He's just totally sucking all around. Chad Tracey sucking in the lineup wouldn't be as potentially "psychologically damaging" in the lon run than Rammy in the lineup making bad AB after bad AB. Looks like it's carried onto the field, at least tonight.

Or maybe stick him on the DL with a strained Patton and let him get some "rehab" ABs off minor league pitching.

There are no words to describe just how bad this team is right now.

Like I've said: If the team is going to tank, then go all-out and lose 95 games and get Hendry, Lou, and all the other dead weight out of here.

What other dead weight? Besides, odds are Lou was gone once his contract was up after this year anyway if they didn't contend (ie - making it past the 1st round of the playoffs), so I doubt some epic tanking was necessary. Same goes for Hendry, too.

At least an epic tanking would get us higher draft picks next June.

True, though it's baseball, so it's not as imperative to get those spots. A tanking would generally just suck.

20K record could be in jeopardy tonight. Haren has 5 through 2 innings against Houston.

Go Cubs.

It doesn't matter. The Cubs have already lost 2/3 to the Reds earlier, so I already pencil the Reds sweeping the Cubs.

It may not be imperative, but it's certainly beneficial. I'm not rooting for failure, but if failure does occur, I hope it's epic so Hendry can stop wrecking this team and maybe we have a better crack at some good players that can help us 3 or so years down the road.

A 78-win season doesn't do much. It gets us middle-of-the-pack draft picks, and Hendry may be able to talk his way into another chance, citing god-knows-what as the reason the team underperformed instead of his massive incompetence.

An epic failure would take that option (however small it may be) away from him. I want Lou gone at the end of this season, I want Hendry gone, and with Lee and probably Lilly gone I want a GM that will spend those monies wisely to get us a few good players that we can build around.

Hendry is gone after this year. Anything short of a World Series win that is.
