Hendry is gone after this year. Anything short of a World Series win that is.

I sure hope so, but I've seen dumber decisions made (and not just by the Cubs).

Yeah, I really don't see him keeping his job if they don't have at least a deep playoff run. He's only got 1 year left on his deal and it's not going to cost much to give him the boot.

Let's hope the bullpen holds them here.

Yep, I just really don't want the team to hang around the edges of a playoff spot long enough for him to make a horrible trade to help this years team out.

Definitely not.

There are no words to describe just how bad this team is right now.

Like I've said: If the team is going to tank, then go all-out and lose 95 games and get Hendry, Lou, and all the other dead weight out of here.

What other dead weight? Besides, odds are Lou was gone once his contract was up after this year anyway if they didn't contend (ie - making it past the 1st round of the playoffs), so I doubt some epic tanking was necessary. Same goes for Hendry, too.

At least an epic tanking would get us higher draft picks next June.

True, though it's baseball, so it's not as imperative to get those spots. A tanking would generally just suck.

If tanking nets the Cubs Anthony Rendon, it'd be worth the pain.

That's why I'm beginning to wonder if a solidly poor season might be better.

I don't want the powers that be getting the idea that we should continue to coast along.

This team better not accept a paycheck for this heartless, uninspired pile of steaming garbage that was this series.

Just when you think they've turned a corner, we get this...

We can't tank that hard the Royals are gonna have that covered. They just sent Alex Gordon back down to AAA so they can teash him to play left field. Cause you gotta get Chris Getz in that lineup everyday.

Haren on pace for 21 K's on 105 pitches.

I'm amazed we've only got 1 run with those mashers in the middle of our lineup...

CUBS score 5.69 runs per game at Wrigley...... and 3.93 R/G everywhere else.

Imagine how hideous that would look if you subtract the games at Miller Park.

I count more mashers hitting 6-7 than I do in the middle of the order.

CUBS score 2.83 R/G in road games not behind the cheddar curtain.

Go CUBS !!!
