If LeBron can't guarantee another max player coming to Chicago/Miami/New York/NJ, then Cleveland makes just as much sense as anybody.

How do you figure that Cleveland's bench makes as much sense as a team with Noah and Rose?

Because Varejao is better than Noah. And because Williams+Jamison aren't really worse than Rose+Deng, and at the very least are better suited to LeBron's game.

Um...ok. That's not true though.

woah look at nba superfan here all of a sudden

at least let lebron sign with the bulls before you get all bandwagony

If my choices are the Cubs, or being a Bulls bandwagoner...there is no choice.

Rockets GM Daryl Morey tweeted at 12:18 a.m. CT (that's a little over an hour after the free-agency deadline) that he'd just met with Bosh. Yao Ming also weighed in.

It would be so sweet if Miami got shutout somehow. Won't happen, but it would be sweet. Actually if they ended up only with Amare and kept Beasley, that would be enough for me. Basically any big with half an offensive game would go off on them 82 games in a row.

Joe Johnson will remain a Hawk and accept their max-deal offer (six years, $124.5 million), according to Adrian Wojnarowski at Yahoo Sports.

With that, some of the main players are probably getting shut out in free agency. Not enough chairs when the music stops.

one things for sure, ESPN has looked especially bad with this and the big ten expansion rumors. very few of their "analysts" have any clue what is actually going on with either situation, even moreso than usual.

This is why you use named sources. When things go wrong, they look bad and not you. I hate that so many "journalists" have sold that out.

That's the right move for him. Take the cash.

For sure. Not so much for the Hawks.

Can't wait to read some Hawks forums later. If they hated the guy before, I wonder how they feel about him now (not that it's his fault he's getting that much).

"Oh heyyyy Atlanta. Remember all that bad stuff I said about you? Just kiddinnnnnn"

Too many chairs seems more apt.

Anyways, that's bad for us. Not because we can't get him, but because now the Knicks can't overpay for him. The domino effect is that NY will now go after someone else (and prob overpay) meaning there's 1 less guy available for us

LeBron or bust

I think it's the other way around. There's still TONS of cap space out there

I dunno if anyone is really going to want the Knicks money. They look really, really bad compared to the other teams with cap space (even the Nets).

It's bad for the Knicks. I'm glad we didn't overpay for him.

I think it's good for the Knicks in that it saves them from themselves. Sounded like they were ready to give him the max.

WHich is why I think it hurts us. Now the Knicks might be competing with us for a different player... one we actually want.

I'm not worried about them at all in terms of anybody that we have a high interest in.

It's bad for the Knicks because I think even they realize that getting any of the big three is a huge pipedream. Johnson was on the next tier and not to mention he knows their system extremely well. It's just one less guy that they can go after.

Five years for Drew Gooden, lol.
