people who use rings as a legacy scorecard are idiots

So you honestly believe LeBron would have a better resume than Wade?

This is so incredibly dumb. LeBron has been the better player, is the better player and will be the better player. In fact the gap between the two is only going to get larger in 3 years or so when Wade likely starts to decline while James should age very well.

But you're right. Because Wade won a title first and was in Miami before LeBron, he'll have a better resume. Please.

I'm still hoping he stays in Cleveland.

LeBron:Wade::Pippen:Jordan

completely incorrect

- James is better than Wade

- Pippen wasn't ever considered best in the league

- Pippen didn't win 2 MVP's on his own team before joining Jordan

- James is really, really better than Wade

Maybe it's semantics, but I took issue with this.

Lebron is better, but not "really, really" better

Has Riley convinced LeBron that he will make sure no Heat players bang his mom?

Best selling point of only having 4 players on your team.

most of the players that the heat will be looking for are his mom's age anyway. don't let her near karl malone.

Now Broussard is backing off a bit on Miami.

He's saying that it's not definitely not a done deal. It's also interesting he's saying that multiple people close to LeBron have been saying Miami, as if they are broadcasting it.

I still don't buy it. My gut still tells me Cleveland.

If it's Cleveland, he's been a real douche about it...

Of course, I guess he's pretty much been a douche about it no matter who it ends up being...but still. What a way to string a team/community/city/state along.

The Broussard article is so dumb. I love this quote:

"By scheduling his special show and essentially putting a deadline on himself to make an announcement, it would appear that James has made up his mind. If he does, however, change his decision, the Cavaliers, the New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls would all be possibilities, according to the sources."

So he's made up his mind and is going to Miami(we think), but if he decides to change his mind (which could happen) he might end up somewhere else.

I think they'd forgive him.

I sorta would prefer if he went anywhere other than Cleveland, even if it means not coming to Chicago. If he doesn't go somewhere new, Christ, this whole thing was so anti-climactic. This was shaping up to be an amazing, insane FA season, and it ends up the only changes are guys like Amare and Boozer and Bosh singing to new teams? YAWN. GIVE ME MADNESS.

if the bulls really thought that they had no shot at lebron, though, they would have already signed morrow or miller to a hefty deal.

obviously, lebron is plan A, but morrow is not a terrible plan B. i don't think he's just a role player like miller or korver would be. we'll likely need morrow and another shooter like redick.

Hes going to Chicago.

Would you still hope that primadonna never wins a title?

Any "king" that piggybacks and tries to stack a team should never deserve to win anything. Even if James does go to Chicago, he's still a primadonna as are 95% of NBA players.

What should LeBron do? Pick Chicago. That's where the rings are. The fact that he didn't say to Bosh, "Come to Chicago with me, we'll play with Rose and Noah and win six titles together" was the single most disappointing outcome of the summer. That team would have been a true juggernaut with pieces that actually complemented each other, unlike this pickup-basketball situation that's brewing in Miami. Even with Boozer there in Bosh's place -- and I think he's a great fit for them, with or without LeBron -- it could still translate to multiple titles, because Rose could have been the best second banana since Kobe in 2001.

Just know that Kobe would have caught a whiff of those rings and gone to Chicago. Same with Jordan. Same with Magic and Bird. Chicago had the biggest competitive advantage of anyone: room for two max guys along with an under-23 franchise point guard and one of the only elite defender/rebounder big men in basketball. How can you care about winning and NOT go to Chicago?

If they can convince some solid guys to join them, it could be a bloodbath

IF Lebron goes to Miami, and I still have my doubts, then Wade/Bosh and James would be eating up the 90% of salary. Which means they willl have very little money to address 3 point shooting, interior defense, etc, etc, and Beasley and Chalmers don't have great trade value, but not enough to improve the team. In other words Miami would have to luck into some players to fill out the roster. James has to know this, that building a roster in Miami will be difficult and time consuming, and there is a chance that it could fail. The Bulls have a roster ready to compete now, Miami only has 2 superstars and two other players and 3 draft picks.

I know all signs are pointing to Miami, but I think that is a smokescreen.

within 2 years they are eating up 120% of the salary.

From Bill Simmons' column today:

“I think it’s a cop-out. Any super-competitive person would rather beat Dwyane Wade than play with him. Don’t you want to find the Ali to your Frazier and have that rival pull the greatness out of you? That’s why I’m holding out hope that LeBron signs with New York or Chicago (or stays in Cleveland), because he’d be saying, “Fine. Kobe, Dwight and Melo all have their teams. Wade and Bosh have their teams. The Celtics are still there. Durant’s team is coming. I’m gonna go out and build MY team, and I’m kicking all their asses.” That’s what Jordan would have done. Hell, that’s what Kobe would have done.”
