i bet we could make the bullpen even better if we move randy wells and ryan dempster there too. and as soon as we see that lilly is back and pitching well, he can start relieving as well.

 

We wouldn't even need another starter after Silva and Gorzelany because they would pitch every inning they start because they obviously could. Then for the next 3 games we can have our super bullpen pitch an inning or two a piece and viola! World Series!

The only thing I can come up with is a little rest early in the year for Z so he's not over 200 innings by the stretch run and an extended audition for a trade for Gorz and Silva.

Who ever is responsible for this move needs to be fired ASAP!! He's at worst our 3rd best starter. If this is just a move to give us an extra arm in the weekend series with Lilly coming back so Gorzo/Silva can get one more start before a decision is made on which one goes to the pen/rotation then Z will proceed to move back into the rotation I guess I sorta get it. But it's just [expletive] stupid.

No the issue is Jim Hendry. It has been for some time now. 18M for a reliever would mean he needs to be worth 4 wins a year. For his career Mariano Rivera is worth 3.2 wins a year. Got that from Gateway Redbirds.
