I'm trying to figure out who would be the better matchup for the Lakers, assuming they get by the Suns.

Well you beat the Magic in the Finals and lost to the Celtics the year before in the finals, so at first glane I'd say you would rather play Orlando. But the Celtics are 2 years older now, and you have a better team than 2 years ago. So I guess maybe Boston?

The irrational Jordan nut-hugging frustrates me. He was amazing but he wasn't superhuman.

Saying that Jordan never lost as a #1 seed as though it means something (one could easily argue that all that means is that it took Jordan longer to be a #1 seed and that LeBron did more in the regular season with crappier teams - not that I think that argument means anything either)... it's tantamount to the dumb people who say that Kobe lost twice in the finals as if it's some sort of negative criticism.

I had ESPN 1000 on as I was going to bed and was cracking up at the late night guy ranting about how "the LeBron-Kobe question has been answered" like Kobe was the only player worth a [expletive] on the Lakers and their success is due only to him. Yeah, it's not like the Lakers aren't arguably the best team in the NBA right now. Enjoy late nights, jerk store.

i don't really get the point of these comments. people have this memory of jordan who would singlehandedly will his team to victory in the playoffs - and yes, he usually took the last shot - but he had good players around him and that's why they won. lebron has mediocre players around him and doesn't win. maybe he's not as good as jordan but it's dumb to denigrate him against a guy who clearly had a better supporting cast.

No Truffle, he actually did singlehandedly will his team to victory. He walked on the court with 3 seconds left down by 2, and the women swooned, the men kissed his feet, and he calmly knelt at 3/4 court and swished it. Blindfolded. Doing it all with the confidence of somebody who's done it 1000 times before. BECAUSE HE HAD. After the shot he went over shook his opponents hands and told them to buck up, tomorrow is another day. Besides it's just sports after all. He casually exited the arena with his loving wife at his side and went home to hear about how her and the kids' day went. Cause that's just how Michael was.

Am I the only one who thought it was strange fans were chanting New York Knicks when LBJ was at the line? Don't the Celts fans know the Knicks play in the same division as their beloved team, and would be rooting for him to NOT sign with the Knicks, who they would have to play at least 4 times a year? Boston fans are strange bunch.

The Knicks are also a giant cluster [expletive]

You forgot when he saved a burning building full of blind children on the way home. And then he cured the blindness of most of them. The rest were Knicks fans.

I haven't gone through the other four pages, but it's a shame that most of the focus is on LeBron failing and not Boston succeeding. If Boston keeps playing defense like they did, they will win another NBA title. Boston rotated their defense so well that I can't remember Cleveland ever getting more than two or three open shots on the perimeter.

Well basically none of the focus is on Boston, because basically, [expletive] Boston.

People aren't talking about Boston, because everyone's too proud to admit I was right about Rondo.

Wait you said Rondo was a douchebag too?

Not gonna lie. I lost my Rondo hate this series... although looking at him still annoys me.

He's fun to watch.

Yeah, but the Lakers needed a missed Courtney Lee alley-oop in Game 2 and a Fisher three with five seconds left in Game 4 to go up 3-1. If either of those goes the other way, it's 2-2 and if both do it's 3-1 Orlando. So I think those two teams are pretty close. But Boston, as you said, beat LA two years ago and seems like a better defensive team that is more likely to give Kobe fits and force him into a couple of his wonderful 8-for-25 shooting nights. But then again, the Celtics are older as well than they were two years ago.

I think I'm a Phoenix fan from here on out, actually (as it pertains to these playoffs).

Definitely.

I've got some spare Celtics stuff if you guys wanna look the part. A very nice Sheed shersey maybe?

I don't even think a Celtics fan would be caught dead in that.

Duct tape won't change the fact that it was a Telfair shersey first.

We will have HFA if Boston advances.
