Not going to be too surprised if Boston wins that series.

I'd be pretty surprised. Lebron played like [expletive] tonight. Our defense was a part of that, but he's not going to have another game that bad the rest of this series. And matchup advantage or not Sheed won't be going 7-8 again.

Basically Pierce needs to pull his head out of his ass(on the offensive end), somebody (Sheed, Davis, Allen, or Finley) needs to actually score off the bench, and Rondo needs to keep being the 2nd best player on the court.

I'm going ahead and adding "milking a relatively minor injury at the end of an early series to have a built-in excuse for no-showing for a game in the next round" to the list of things that Michael Jordan would never, ever, in a million years, have done.

This isn't on LeBron.

If Boston's big three played like they had fresh legs, this series wouldn't really be close. If all of those guys are somehow healthy, I honestly think the Celtics are the best team in the league. Besides LBJ, there's not another position on the court where the Cavs are better than Boston.

So, you're saying if you could put them in a time machine then it wouldn't be close? Ok, well let the Cavs do the same with Shaq and it's an easy sweep.

Shaq is much further from his prime than KG, Allen, and Pierce are. He hasn't been the same since he left the Lakers. The Celtics meanwhile won a title less than two years ago.

Yes, that's exactly what I said.

I had to check and make sure this wasn't written in 2008. Even if the Celtics make it past the Cavs, they will not get past Orlando. Garnett and Allen will have to use every last drop of energy they have in their legs to win this series.

You do realize that the Celtics (without KG) took Orlando to seven last year, right?

We'll certainly see what happens as this series progresses. If Boston plays the two games at the Garden like they played the first two in this series, Cleveland's toast.

The Magic weren't exactly healthy in that series.

I've thought all along that people were underrating the Celtics heading into this playoffs, but unfortunately I don't see any way they make it to the Finals. Rondo can't do it alone.

Good point. Although Alston played pretty well in the playoffs last year, he still is not Jameer Nelson. And while I do agree with Flames that the Celtics can be a dangerous team, I much rather play them in the EC Finals than the Cavs for obvious reasons, the main being we would have home-court. This is all assuming we don't lay an egg against Atlanta however.

Boston has played really, really well. And, almost all of the credit has to be given to Rondo. Even when he doesn't score or get an assist, he has a huge impact. Another big match up problem. We just don't have anyone even close to being fast enough to pretend to stop him every now and then.

The Hawks apparently decided to not show up for Game 1.

Sounds like they are taking after their hockey half name sake.

I don't think you'll have to worry about the Hawks.

Whatever the ECF matchup is, it should be a great one.

John Hollinger apparently has the same mental illness that I do.

His personal point guard rankings

1. Williams

2. Nash

3. (Keeping it warm for Paul)

4. Rondo

5. Billups

Honorable mention: Rose, Westbrook, Parker, Nelson.

Oh no. I don't have a problem with the first four guys in that list, but how in the world is Rose not ahead of Billups? Chauncey wasn't very good in the series against Utah. Deron lit him up.

My rankings:

1. Deron

2. Paul

3. Rose

4. Nash

5. Rondo

Really, 2-5 are pretty close to being interchangable. Rose and Nash are basically a coin-flip for me. The top ten PG's in the league are still all very good. But at this stage in their careers, I don't see how you can have Billups over Rose.

Van Gundy just said 1 on 1 with Robbie Benson was one of his favorite movies.

Hollinger would put up whatever his statistical rankings say he should put up. And there's not anything wrong with that necessarily. He's the sort of guy that could be transported back to 1997 and would claim that Terrell Brandon is a better basketball player than Allen Iverson.

What I'm saying is if you think Rajon Rondo can carry a team like Derrick Rose can then you're not watching the same sport I am.

btw, goran dragic officially stripped himself of being derrick rose's biatch by TORCHING the spurs for 26 in the second half. he was amazing.

After not scoring in the first half, no less.

I wonder what the record is for most points scored in the second half after not scoring in the first.

This is probably entertaining to only me, but I don't care.
