So, who's a better matchup for the Bulls in the second round? Heat or Celtics

Is this a joke?

I don't mean to overlook Cleveland by any means but it is fun to talk about future (and probable) match ups.

Cavs fans seems to think it's their right to already talk about the 2nd round. Don't get me wrong, when you have LBJ you should feel cocky, but Cleveland hasn't done enough or dominate enough to warrant such cockiness.

While I won't pretend to think the Bulls will win this series, Cleveland for the most part isn't nearly as good as their record says they are. They have a mediocre coach, and their supporting cast leaves a lot to be desired, excluding Jamison and Williams.

Ugh. I'm not sure if the Blazers really wanted the 6th seed and matchup with Phoenix. With Roy hurting (and possibly out) the "young and athletic" bench that has been hyped for 3 seasons better step up. Rudy & Miller have to be huge if Roy is down

Why did the Heat rest Wade when they were playing for seed?

They probably wanted to lose to stay out of LeBron's side of the bracket.

Backfired big time ... Nets are so bad that they can't even win a forfeit game.

horray for playoffs that seem to last two freaking months and that half the teams in the league are able to make

I can only assume you're also not a fan of college basketball.

A) March Madness doesn't last two whole months, it lasts just over two weeks.

B) I should have also added that the way the NBA plays basketball isn't all that appealing to me. Maybe I just don't watch enough of it (I do watch a good amount of NCAAB), but everytime I see an NBA game on TV and watch a few minutes it's just not very exciting. Seems like 90% of the shots aren't even contested, whereas in the college game there appears to be much more emphasis on defense. It just looks like two different games to me.

Umm March Madness lasts 1 month and no where near half the teams make the tournament.

It still takes a long-ass time and there's still an absurd amount of teams competing. I have no idea why one would expect that the time span for playoffs must occur within a certain amount of time. Why is one month OK, but over one month is not? Yeah, over half the teams in the NBA make the playoffs, but how is that so much worse than wading through 65 teams in a tournament, which is soon going to be expanded to nearly 100?

Playoff dates for last year:

March Madness - 21 days

MLB - 28 days

NFL - 29 days

NHL - 55 days (yuck)

NBA - 57 days

The issue is you have a bunch of mediocre teams competing for long-ass periods of time. It doesn't bother you much when Mississippi Valey State is in the NCAAs, because they're gone in a day. I'm going to be stuck watching the Bulls for a full week.

Because I don't like the leagues that have the long playoffs. I guess that is the bottom line for me.

Although I don't know how I'd feel if MLB lasted two months. I suppose I'd get pretty tired of watching the Yankees and Phillies beat up on people for two months.

The MLB playoffs getting longer would blow severely. We already have teams like the 06 Cardinals and 05 (I think) Padres getting in barely over .500 on occasion - expanding them would make things like that nearly an every-year occurrence.

Because one month is around what most playoff systems last. Two months is way too long. 2 months is double 1 month and thus a much longer amount of time. You seem to believe there isn't much difference between 1 month and 2 months.

Also playing a factor, albeit small, is the NBA playoffs used to be shorter but they somewhat recently made every series a 7 game series.

And thank God they did.
