I'd be thrilled to be in the Finals for the first time in nearly 20 years. I think they'd beat the Caps, but the Pens frighten me.

Man I really hope they can do it. Despite various frustrations over the last couple of months, I've grown to love this team.

 

Edit: I should mention that they do pick the Avs to beat the choking Sharks in the first roundm before having the Hawks sweep them in the 2nd round.

 

Also:

 

EA's simulation concluded that Blackhawks' captain Jonathan Toews will end the Cup drought by scoring seven minutes into overtime for a 2-1 win in Game 7 against the defending champion Penguins. Goaltender Cristobal Huet makes 43 saves for the win.

 

It's settled then. Anyone with half a brain knows these simulations are always spot-on, and the other teams who didn't win will be just going through the motions.

I walked by the NHL store a little bit ago, where they film some segments for the network. There was a female on-air personality wearing a very nice fitting blue dress. Sort of brightened my day a bit.

by my estimate, if we play you, it would be in the conference finals. if we get that far, we can lose every game 7-0 and i would by pretty happy. at that point i think i'd just be walking around in a happy fog, considering i expected this team to have to fight tooth and nail to get in rather than be in the playoff picture all season and never fall out of the top 8 and coast to 100 points and all that stuff. honestly, i'd rather the hawks win than any other team in the west.

I could hardly believe it when I saw that. Great news. Sopel has been through it and I'm fine with him as the #6 defenseman in the playoffs, but I'd like not to have to rely on Hendry. Of course, the other option is Keith playing 40 minutes/game.

Just one of those random thoughts: do you guys think Hawks fans are more White Sox or Cubs fans? For some reason I think Sox, but that's not based on anything but my own observations.
