I'm gonna go with "upper body injury." There is no way they are letting on what that injury is or how serious it is. But I'm dying to know too. He's really an underappreciated guy on this team.

And ^^, yes, I do suppose Dollar Bill deserves some of the credit for this for dying. Thanks Bill! Why don't you ask Rocky how expensive this Stanley Cup is gonna be. Stupid SOB.

the hawks obviously spent more on their roster (and probably marketing too) than the dollar bill years, but they had sellouts pretty much every game, at least 10 home playoff games, lots more in merchandise sales, and local tv revenue. there's no way the hawks aren't making more than they did under bill. what a dolt.

wirtz wasn't about money he was just against the fans for some reason. he hated them, he knew he could make more money but he refused to relent.

Wait for them to finish. I'm guessing in Philly wins tomorrow night, we'll see Games 1 and be Friday and Sunday in Chicago. Otherwise we're looking at Sunday and Tuesday.

I still hoping Montreal can prolonged the series one more game.

I thought it was interesting to go back to the first Blackhawks thread still accessible on this site (2006-07) and then browse the other two season threads and just think how far the Blackhawks have come since those early days of posting great goals by Kane and Toews and thinking aloud how these are the kind of guys that change franchises and well, here we are.

I can safely say this current group of Blackhawks has re-energized my interest in hockey. Back in the late 80's/early 90's I would follow the playoff games on radio (my parents never had cable) but by the time I got to college and had cable, the franchise had started to regress into that dead period. Last season's playoff run is what really got me back into it again and this season is just the icing on the cake of course. Such a young team, they could be at the top for a while.

i always remember the quote in that clip without even watching it.

"this is the kind of talent that can bring a franchise back from the dead"

won't sound as good on here. just said "congratulations sharks, you're a pretty good regular season team" and then called them out for only scoring 7 goals in the series. it was the way he said it though that made me laugh. It wasn't in a joking way at all, very bitter... almost like he was a disgusted Sharks fan.

Yes this is a Bleacher Report article, but I thought it was worth sharing. This is one guys ranking of the top 50 skaters in the NHL today.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/395684-stars-on-ice-ranking-the-top-50-skaters-in-the-nhl

The Blackhawks on his list are:

41. Brent Seabrook

37. Patrick Sharp

18. Patrick Kane

14. Marian Hossa

8. Duncan Keith

3. Jonathan Toews

If those rankings seem a little biased, the writer is a Hawks fan. Still interesting to read through though.

I know they have to get under the cap and whatnot, but it's gonna be awfully hard to pull the trigger on trading Byfuglien in the offseason now. I'd love to see him on the line with Kane and Toews during the regular season.
